Chapter 10

3 hours vacant. Ganito sa University namin. Patayan ang vacant. Swerte na yung 3 hours kasi yung iba umaabot pa ng 6 hours ang vacant nila, and pag ganun nakakatamad ng pumasok. Kaya medyo thankful ako na 3 hours lang ang kailangan naming pataying oras.

"Guuuuyss, tara let's eat. Mamamatay na ako sa gutom!" Daing ko kayna Patchie, kasi sa totoo lang kanina pa kumakalam sikmura ko.

Patchie just gave me a glare, while Gelou just laught at my sudden outburst.

"Duh, I'm serious guys! H'wag ninyo lang ako basta titigan at tawanan!" Pag-alma ko pa.

In the end bumigay din naman si Patchie at nag-aya sa McDo. Alam ko din naman na hindi siya makakatanggi sa pagkaen no! 

"Yiiiiz, manlilibre na ang boyps ni Patchie sa wakas!" sigaw ni Gelou na pumukas sa attention ko. Boyps? As in Boyfriend?

Napatingin ako kay Patchie, nakangiti lang siya na parang tanga tapos nakatingin deretso sa dinadaanan namin. "Couz, may boyfriend ka na?" I lower my voice, baka kasi mali lang ako ng dinig.

Tumingin siya sakin tapos lalong lumawak yung ngiti niya. Dahan dahan siyang tumango, at ang baliw kinilig pa. "What the hell, couz?! Bakit hindi ko yun alam?!" I asked. "Naturingan mo pa man din ako pinsan tapos hindi ko man lang alam na may boyfriend ka na? -- Tapos--- tapos mas nauna pang malaman ni Gelou kesa sakin?!" Pagbuburst out ko. Dahilan para mapatigil din kami sa paglalakad.

"Ang OA mo naman couz," Sagot naman niya. "Hindi naman kita diary para malaman mo lahat ng ginagawa ko no, tsaka surprise kasi talaga dapat yun!" dagdag pa niya. Tapos tumingin kay Gelou. "E, chismosa lang itog isang ito kaya niya nalaman."

Napatingin naman ako kay Gelou, nagshrug lang siya tapos naglakad na ulit.

Pagdating namin sa McDo ay hinahap namin ang 'Tabs' ni Patchie, yun daw kasi tawagan nila. Tss. Pa-mystery effect pa tong pinasan ko, ayaw pang sabihin yung pangalan. 

Nagulat ako nung biglang may tumawag sa name ni Patchie only to see Ian---- with his friends. And when I say friends, it includes Pierre and Hillary. Bigla tuloy nawala yung gutom ko at napalitan ng uyam. I mean seriously? Why would my cousin date him in the first place? Plus he's known for, I mean they're known for being jerks!

"Seriously, couz?" I whisper to Patchie.

"STFU, couz." She answered back through gritted teeth tapos nag-pacute pa kay Ian. Ugh. Kadiri!

So there. We end up joining in their table. No choice naman ako, kasi mukhang ako lang ang may ayaw, kasi etong katabi ko kinikilig din. Ugh. Ano ba naman to?!

"Oh, look who's here." Pag-t-taunt naman ni Brunette na todo makayakap kay Burn na akala mo linta. Inirapan ko lang siya.

At siyempre ano panga ba ang inaasahan ko? Edi ilang oras ko kelangan sikmurain ang presence ni Pierre. Bumalik nanaman siya sa pagiging jerk niya. Mas gusto ko pa yung side niya na serious na pa-mysterious effect e. Tss. Ano ba yan! Kung ano ano na ang lumalabas sa bibig ko!

At ang mokong di pa nakontento! Nakipagpalit pa ng pwesto kay Patchie parang makatabi ako at asarin ako! Kainis, eto namang pinsan ko walang kaabog abog na pumayag! Palibhasa katabi niya boyfriend niya. Ang nagagawa nga naman ng boyfriend.

"So? Tell me, couz. How did you two came to this situation? In a realationship I mean." I asked Patchie.

Before Patchie can even open her mouth to answer, Ian already did it for her.

"We're childhood best friends," Bigla naman siyang hinampas ni Patchie sa balikat which cause him to shout in pain. 

Jeez, Don't worry Ian I also get that from her, a lot. I want to tell him but decided not to.

But naconfuse naman ako sa sagot now that it already sink in to me. Childhood best friend? But since when did that happened? I spent most of my childhood with Patch and never did she told me about having this child hood best friend.

I looked at Patchie, trying to get some answers. "He mean, we've know each other since we were kids, pero hindi kami close dati." She tried to explain. "Schoolmate ko siya sa SHA, so malamang you haven't heard about him." 

Okay? Maybe that makes sense. But I'm still confused.

I was in my pool of thoughts when suddenly Burn stood up. "Okay! Hindi ko na kaya ito! Oorder na ako sa ayaw at sa gusto niyo. Sumunod nalang yung gusto." He announced. Then went straight to the counter and fall in line. Sumunod din sa kaniya si Kent together with Patchie and Ian leaving the table awkward for the five of us: Me, Pierre, Gelou, Hil and Brunette.

After a minute or so, Brunette finally stood up. "Maybe we should get our own food, Hil." she said to Hil with her perfect british accent.

"Uhm, Yulie sunod lang ako kala Patch ha?" Paalam ni Gelou. "Ano bang gusto mong kanin?" She even ask before leaving.

"Rice and 1 pc. Chicken, sundae, extra large fries and yung drinks iced tea." Napatingin ako kay Pierre after niya magsalita. Pano niya nalaman yung gusto kong orderin?!

"Okay! Sige, punta muna ako dun." Sa sobrang shock ko ay di ko na na-absorb yung sinabi ni Gelou.

After umalis ni Geloy ay bigla niya akong pininch sa cheek ko sabay sabing, "Ang bibig, isara. Bakapasukan ng langaw."

Napasimangot naman ako bigla. Pero seriously? Mind reader ba siya or what? I mean ngayon lang kami nagkasamang kumain dito pero alam niya kung ano yung oorderin ko.

"I seriously don't know how to read minds, I just know na yun yung gusto mo." As if the question was written in my face, he gave a super cliche answer. Tsaka tumingin saakin.

"But how come?" I asked, confusion is still written in my face. "I mean, you don't know anything about me, and the same goes with me. We're not even friends to begin with. So how come you know what I'm going to order?"

He look me in the eyes. He's now dead serious, and that I can tell by the way he's looking at me. 

I can see sadness in his eyes. But then again, why?

But before I can even ask so many questions ay naunahan na niya ako.

"Wala ka ba talagang maalala?" 

And that made me weak. Maalala? Ano ba ang dapat kong alalahanin? May dapat ba akong maalala? 

I tried accessing my past but none of them linked in to him.
