Vic pulled up in a vintage white mustang when I reached the uni car park. I couldn't help but gawk as she stopped next to me in one of my favourite convertibles ever, with the roof down and a black cap over her head.

The wind had still messed up her hair a little but it made her look sexy as hell, like she had just effortlessly walked out of bed looking so good. I shook myself as that thought popped into my head. I really didn't want her to think this was a booty call and I was just using her.

"Are you gonna stop staring?" She said with a giant smirk, and I pulled myself together as I laughed at myself. "I don't even know if you're more transfixed by the car or me."

"Both," I heard myself saying as I leaned close to her and stroked the bonnet. "Where did you get this beauty?"

She shrugged. "I have my ways."

I chuckled as I got in the other side and strapped myself in. "Fine. Keep your secrets. Where are we going?"

"You'll see soon."

I had no idea where she was taking me. I'd assumed she wasn't going to her house after her suspicions of a booty call, and we weren't going somewhere with alcohol involved because she was driving. But other than that I had nothing. For all I knew she could've been taking me somewhere quiet to hack up my unsuspecting body.

We drove for a while. I would say the journey was about twenty minutes long, but the time flew by. She put the radio on and we had a light, breezy conversation about uni life, our professors and some of our classes. It was so ordinary it almost distracted me from all the stuff that had gone down today.

When Vic finally stopped the car we were at the beach, but right towards the edge where the sand gave way to rocks and cliffs. We got out and started walking. She took my hand.

I tried not to think about how good her skin felt against mine.

We trekked for a bit before we came to a rocky patch where the walking turned into a light climb. I wasn't fussed by the exercise: I loved a good hike. I was way more intrigued on where we were going but I wasn't going to ask when I knew she'd just tell me to be patient.

After a few minutes we stopped on a ledge, which was the entrance to a very shallow cave that sat tucked away in the short cliff face above the edge of the beach. I was silent for a moment as I took in the surroundings.

It was a nifty little spot, quite a gorgeous one really. The sprawling ocean lay beneath us in it's vast glory, stretching out to mysterious blue depths and wonders. We could see the beach too but only at a slight angle, which meant the cave wasn't really visible to any on-lookers.

"This place is awesome," I said to her as we sat down. "How did you find it?"

She smiled. "In first year we used to have a lot of beach parties, and at a particularly bad one I decided to go explore and I found the cave. Now I use here and a few other places people don't know about to escape."

The smile fell from her face slightly and I frowned. "Does the fan club bother you?"

"Sometimes," she admits, glancing at me for a moment before looking away. "At first I liked it. When you come from a place full of glamorous celebrities its nice to be noticed and get attention. I guess everyone would like it. But it's just..."

"What?" I prompted her as she trailed off, taking her cheek with my hand lightly so that she was facing me. Her gorgeous eyes were tinged with deep blue melancholy.

Her voice was barely above a whisper when she answered me. "I don't know...I thought it was what I wanted. But now every time someone talks to me I'm just wondering what they want to use me for next."

"I'm not gonna use you."

The smile returned, even though it was smaller than before. "Thank you. I hope I can believe you."

"You can," I told her earnestly, stroking her cheek softly before pulling away. "What about your friends? How do they feel about all this?"

She snorted. "Do you mean the two girls you see me with?"

I nodded, frowning. She made it sound like they barely even qualified to be classed as friends.

"Josie and Danny are airheads. Being popular and pretty is like their life. Trust me they have no problem with the attention, genuine or not."

"Wow don't compliment them too much." I couldn't help the laugh that escaped me.

She shrugged. "They are who they are, it's not my fault they're fake and shallow. At least your friends can be honest with you."

"Well, some of them," I said bitterly, my mood darkening as Anna returned to my mind.

"What do you mean?"

I turned to her, assessing that gorgeous face with a small pause. A part of me didn't want to tell her because I didn't want her to think less of me, but then I remembered Logan's advice about how it didn't reflect badly on me and I forced the words out.

"Back in the UK I had a girlfriend for a couple of years. But I left for America without telling her or anyone back home with no way of contacting me. I called her today to officially break it off, and when I rung up I found out she'd been cheating on me for half a year with one of our mates."

Her eyes widened. "How did you find out?"

"He was the one who picked up the phone, and then I heard her ask him to come back to bed," I growled out, the memory still making me mad. "And then she told me how long it had been going on."

"Wow. I'm so sorry, that sucks."

I nodded and she moved closer to me so that our legs were touching.

"She must be an idiot to cheat on you."

For a moment I was surprised. She was looking up at me with undisguised lust in those dark eyes and suddenly like something just snapped in me I was feeling the same way too. I leaned down without overthinking anything and kissed her.

Her lips were soft and tasted faintly of cherry and almost immediately I wanted more. I kissed her gently at first but when she didn't pull away I bit her bottom lip softly and she gasped. I took that opportunity to deepen the kiss and soon enough the atmosphere became intense and heavy and lustful. I wanted her. I wanted her so much. I didn't think I could restrain myself any longer and I had no intention of doing so either.

We both pulled away, our heavy breaths filling the empty cave. Her cheeks were flushed and her lips were slightly swollen, and I'm sure mine didn't look much different.

"Damn," she let out after she'd recovered herself a bit. "That's definitely one way to get over a cheater."

Yeah it sure was.
