By the time we reached the campus club a welcome warm buzz was filling my insides, courtesy of a certain Jack and Daniels I'd managed to bring from home. It wasn't just the alcohol that had me in a good mood, however. My second day in the USA had been a lot better than the first and I was actually looking forward to spending the year here. Already I just felt so...free.

I loved my family and the life I'd had back home, but there had been so much constraint surrounding the way I lived it. Here there was none of that. I did what I wanted when I wanted and there was no one to tell me otherwise.

Today had genuinely been one of the best days I'd had in a while. I was captain of the football team back home so I always had to make sure I ate healthy, kept to a regular diet and exercised regularly. Today I did none of that. Instead me and Logan ate junk food all day, ordered takeout and drank steadily from the afternoon on-wards.

It felt awesome to just relax and enjoy being young. I hoped the whole year would be like this.

And to think if I hadn't gone through with my plan I'd be preparing myself to work in an office for the rest of my life right now...

I shuddered and tried to remember the fun times I did have back in the UK. I mean Johnny's parties were wild and I always had fun with Anna, although if I really loved her I would've stayed despite the job situation.

I frowned and shook my head at myself. There was no point thinking about the past and ruining a great day. The queue for the club was rapidly shrinking and it was time to have some fun.

Logan turned around and smirked at me, as a couple of his buddies he'd had round the flat before we went out were let in. "Are you excited then? Do you think American clubs are different to English ones?"

I laughed a bit too loudly, the alcohol getting to me. "Who knows. Unless there's some sort of fried food bar and a bull to rodeo, probably not. And I'm also guessing we won't be able to buy any drinks in there."

"Yep, soda until we're twenty one I'm afraid," he shrugs, seemingly unbothered. "It's alright though: everyone just gets drunk beforehand or sneaks other stuff in."

"Hmm...in that case it won't be that different from a UK club."

He nodded and changed the subject as we continued to wait in line. "Do you like my friends? I know two of them from Texas and the other one is a mutual from Georgia."

"Yeah they're chill. What are their names again?"

He was about to reply when there was a disturbance in the queue, as three girls walked straight past everyone to talk to the bouncer. From behind they looked gorgeous, with model-like figures and designer clothes that fitted so well I couldn't stop myself from staring. I knew it was wrong because I was technically still with Anna, but I really wanted them to turn around so I could see them in their entirety.

The blonde and the brunette were the ones talking to the guy, whilst the dark haired girl with lovely tanned skin hung back and waited. And as if someone heard my pleas from above, she turned her head to the long queue she'd just walked past.

There must've been something in that whiskey because the moment I looked at her I felt like a twelve year old boy starting puberty again. She looked so hot with that short, black dress which showed off her amazing body, full breasts and gorgeous legs; and I couldn't help but wonder what she looked like without anything to cover her. I was completely captivated as her dark gaze passed from the crowd and onto me, the guy who was clearly ogling her without any restraint.

Her expression turned into a sexy smirk and she bit down on her lower ruby lip, taunting me even more. My thoughts of Anna went out the window.

I was about to go up to her when her friends turned away and led her into the club, the bouncer looking pleased with himself as he let them through. I turned excitedly to Logan as I watched her walk in. "Who the hell was that?"

He shrugged and grinned. "Are you talking about the girl you were practically drooling over? Cus if you are I have no idea."

"Can you blame me though? Did you see how hot she was?"

"Yeah to be fair I thought she was somethin' special. But I won't make a move if you're interested."

I nodded. "In that case you can be my wing-man."

"I'll loan you a bit of my magic," he said, wiggling his eyebrows in a teasing manor.

I laughed at him as we were finally let in by the bouncer, but I couldn't help but feel nervous and slightly guilty. I knew I was trying to let go of trapping responsibility, but was trying to chat up another girl when I had loose ends back home right?

Turns out I needn't have worried. As soon as we got into the club and I went to look for her, I found that I was too late. The three girls were surrounded by fans and there was no chance I would be getting anywhere near her.

I sighed and stood next to another guy who was also watching them from a distance, with a fairly judgemental expression on his face.

"Hey, do you know who the girl with the dark hair is?" I asked him, desperate to know who she was.

He looked at me for a moment and frowned. "Why don't you just go and ask their groupies?"

"Because they look like dorks." And I doubted they would want any new members.

He smirked. "You're not wrong. That's Victoria Grange and she's trouble. If you want to have a good time here than stay away from her."

"Why? What's wrong with her?"

He shook his head. "Hang out with her and you'll find out, or just become one of her naive little minions who do anything she asks." He ended his warning bitterly and walked away, looking pretty pissed off. I immediately felt skeptical. The way he spoke about her sounded more like wounded pride than anything else, and I wondered how long ago she'd pied him off.

Besides, I didn't know if it was just me, but when someone said not to do something I felt even more entitled to do it. And this situation certainly didn't feel any different.
