On the edge

I felt a gentle touch on my head. Was he playing with me?

"Ai."

I gasped and my head shot up, "Riku?"

Riku stood before me.
He looked exactly like I remembered.

Tears overwhelmed my vision, "Did I finally die?"

His thumb traced over my cheek, "You wouldn't be in that chair still if you were actually here with me."

"Then what is this?," I shook my head, "I finally lost it, huh?"

He wiped the tears from my face, "Almost Ai. I'm your minds last hope at staying intact."

"I miss you."

"I miss you too Ai."

"I'm sorry I couldn't save you," I knew he wasn't real; but I could pretend right?

"I know," he smiled at me.

I heard the door slam open.

"He's back," Riku disappeared and Kaito took his place.

"Are you ready to start the day?"

I couldn't bring myself to cry anymore, "When do you finally plan on killing me? I've been in this room for what has to be more than a month now."

He laughed, "I'll kill you when I've grown bored of you; but I don't see that happening anytime soon."

"Can you tell me how you're going to do it?," as sick as it sounded; I dreamed about my end.

"Are you sure? You might not like what I say."

I couldn't help but smile, "What's worse than my life right now?"

He shrugged, "All right. If you really want to know."

He kneeled in front of me and grabbed my foot; prepping hisself to begin our daily routine.

"Have you ever thought about what I do with your cut off fingers and toes?"

CRUNCH

I could never suppress my screams during his torture.

He continued as I screamed, "I eat them."

It had honestly been quite some time since I've caved into the ghoul side of my appetite.
    Devouring humans wasn't a necessity for us; but it made us stronger.
Eating another ghoul though? Something I've never even thought of.

"You're a delicious creature (Y/N). The power i'd gain from eating you would be extraordinary."

CRUNCH

So I'd just end up disappearing completely

No body to bury. I'd never get to see Kakashi again.

The chunin exams were over. All three of them had passed. (Y/N) would've been proud.

It's been months since I last saw her.

Tsunade was still letting me go on missions to search. One trip I'd take Naruto. Another I'd travel with Jiraiya.
