A nightstand with an open book
ready to be read is my alarm
to start off my morning.
Pretty words and soft pages
will be my breakfast sider,
along with my coffee
brimming with warmth.
Bringing me warmth.
Just the right amount of brew
to kick off my chapters.
My whole life, I have been reading
of love, of life,
of dark, of light,
of beauty, of sadness.
Day and night.
Nose deep in pages.
I have been reading my whole life
of how to live my life,
and in that same time,
have I really lived at all?
