When Ye Hua was gone, Bai Qian let herself go. The spell overtook her, and she transformed into her original form. Snowy white fur covered her body, her tail extended behind and split into nine parts.

Bai Qian had never felt so relieved. In this form, Bai Qian was much more in tune with herself. Her senses spiked up, and she could tell the slightest change in her environment.

And now, to find the spell that causes this whole mess. Bai Qian sniffed around the house, looking for anything that might be out of place. She had flipped through every pot and pan in the kitchen. Bai Qian checked every corner of their living space. She even searched under the bed.

Nothing.

Could Bai Qian really be pregnant?

No, she refused to. She couldn't be a mother, she just couldn't.

There's one place Bai Qian hasn't checked yet. She looked through Ye Hua's stuff, she could feel it, the spell enveloping her, it's close.

Suddenly, Bai Qian heard footsteps trudging through snow.

Ye Hua!

She needed to find it before he reached home. Bai Qian reached deep into his work pack, and there she found it. Bai Qian pulled out a piece of paper hidden in his bag. It was yellow parchment paper with red scribbles on top, a paper talisman imbued with a spell!

A revealing spell to be exact. Simple talismans were usually harmless. However, this one was expertly written. It had been working its way through her slowly, forcefully transforming her against her own will.

Well, not anymore.

Bai Qian stared at it piercingly, and the parchment paper burst into flame. The spell evaporated, and she turned back into a human, just in time when Ye Hua opened the door.

"Qian Qian, " he asked, "What are you doing on the floor?"

Before he noticed, Bai Qian brushed the ash away from his view, "I was trying to get water, and I fell, "

Ye Hua rushed in and carried her to bed. "Are you hurt?"

Bai Qian shook her head, "No, not really, "

Ye Hua let out a sigh of relief. He gestured to the man behind him, "This is Physician Zhang, "

Bai Qian gave him a slight bow and thanked him for coming all the way here.

"It's my pleasure, my lady, " the physician said, "May I ask what's wrong with you?"

Now that the spell had been broken, Bai Qian was no longer showing symptoms of sickness. It would be too suspicious if she got better suddenly. Therefore, Bai Qian pretended that she was still sick.

"I was very frail and had been vomiting a lot," she said.

The physician pressed his finger on her wrist, "I didn't detect anything odd about your pulse, "

"So..." Ye Hua murmured, "She's not pregnant?"

He shook his head, "I'm afraid not, "

Thank goodness, Bai Qian silently thought. She pretended not to notice that Ye Hua was trying really hard not to look disappointed.

"I think I may have eaten something bad yesterday, " Bai Qian suggested, "Bad fish perhaps?"

"We share the same food, but I'm not sick," Ye Hua stated.

"You have a strong stomach, " she retorted.

The physician nodded and prescribed her with some medicine for food poisoning. Ye Hua sat by the foot of the bed after he left. He placed his hand on her knees, "Are you feeling better now, Qian Qian?"
