CHAPTER 10

“Thanks for today although you were such a jerk for not telling me that it’s your birthday. Sana nabigyan man lang kita ng gift.” himutok ko nang makarating kami sa parking lot ng apartment building ko. Hindi pa rin ako maka move on sa nalamang ngayon ang birthday niya.

Ngumisi ito at bumaling sa akin. Pinatay nito ang makina ng kotse. “You wanted to give me a gift that much?”

Umingos ako. “Nagi-guilty kasi ako. Pina-record pa naman kita ng scores tapos birthday mo pala...”

“Hmm, pwede namang bigyan mo ako ng gift ngayon.” he chuckled.

Inirapan ko siya. “Hindi nga ako nakabili diba?”

“I’m not asking for a material gift, sweetheart.” His stare dropped on my lips. “A simple kiss would do.” he said in a hoarse voice.

Biglang lumakas ang kabog ng dibdib ko at nanuyo ang lalamunan ko. A k-kiss? My gaze went to his lips. It’s reddish and moist. Bahagyang nakaawang ang mga labi niya. It looks so inviting.

Wala namang masama diba? Pagbibigyan ko lang siya dahil bukod sa birthday niya ay tinulungan pa niya ako kanina. I took a deep breath.

Pinatakan ko nang magaang halik ang mga labi niya. Lalayo na sana ako pero nabigla ako nang hinawakan niya ang likod ng ulo ko at saka pinalalim ang halik. An involuntary moan escaped my lips when he thrust his tongue inside my mouth, seeking, tasting every corners. Napakapit ako sa braso niya dahil pakiramdam ko nanlalambot ako. I never thought a kiss could be this powerful, to be this overwhelming.

Ang kamay niya na nakahawak sa likod ng ulo ko ay naglandas papunta sa leeg ko, humahaplos, dumadama. I shivered in delight. I never knew I missed his kisses until I tasted it again. He bit my lower lip bago niya pinakawalan ang mga labi ko. Pareho kaming hinihingal.

“That’s what I meant when I said I want a kiss, baby, not a smack.”

Bumitaw ako sa pagkakahawak sa braso niya. Pakiramdam ko kasing-pula ko na ang kamatis. Tumikhim ako. Hindi ko alam ang susunod na gagawin. I suddenly felt awkward.

“Uhh, I’ll g-go inside na.” I held the door handle and went outside the car.

“I’ll see you outside your apartment.” sabi niya at saka lumabas na din ng kotse. Nagpunta kami sa elevator at saka sumakay. Nasa second floor lang naman ang apartment ko pero hindi ko ata kaya maglakad, nanlalambot ang tuhod ko from the kiss.

Napasandal ako sa malamig na dingding ng elevator. Suddenly, I’m very much aware of Luke’s presence. His smell that I loved so much seemed to linger on my nose. Mula noong sinabi ko na ayaw ko sa amoy ng perfume niya ay nagpalit na siya ng ibang perfume. Nakasandal din siya sa elevator habang nakapikit at naka-krus ang mga braso sa dibdib. I stared at his side profile. Ang ganda nang makapal niyang kilay at ang tangos ng ilong niya. My gaze dropped on his firm lips. Biglang nag-init ang mukha ko. I looked away.

Ako ang unang lumabas nang bumukas ang elevator. Sinusian ko ang pinto ng apartment ko at saka binuksan ang pinto.

Nilingon ko siya. “D-Do you wanna go in first?” Alok ko sakanya. I bit my lower lip. Usually kasi kapag hinahatid niya ako ay tumutuloy muna siya sa apartment ko bago umalis. But I don’t know if inviting him inside now is a good idea.

He took a deep breath. Bumaba ang tingin niya sa mga labi ko. His jaw clenched and he looked like he was in pain. “You know very well na hindi lang pagtambay ang gagawin ko kapag pumasok pa ako sa bahay mo, Red. And I know you’re not yet ready for that.”

I shivered when I understood what he meant. Of course! Hindi naman siguro siya ganoon kabait para umaktong wala lang after that earth shattering kiss we shared. I should be scared but I don’t know why I felt...excited. Goodness gracious, is it because of the pregnancy hormones?

I cleared my throat, hoping na mawawala din ang lumot sa isip ko. “Okay. G-Goodnight.”

“Goodnight, baby.” he whispered huskily. “And to my other baby.” he planted a kiss on my stomach which didn’t came out as a surprise to me. Isang linggo na din niyang ginagawa yan kapag aalis na siya. Nasanay na ako.

“Get inside, make sure to lock your door.” he reminded me while his dark gaze hovered over my lips. I saw how his adam’s apple bobbled up and down, it’s as if he’s restraining himself.

I sighed. Before I could chicken out, I clung unto his neck and gave him a hard kiss. He was stunned for a moment but he got over it quite fast. His hand immediately snaked on my waist and he answered my kiss fervently, hungrily. I groaned when he traced his tongue on my lower lip and bit it gently. His hand that was on my waist glided down and suddenly cupped my behind which made me gasped.

We only stopped when we felt like we ran out of oxygen. He rested his head on my forehead. We were both catching our breaths.

“That was a very dangerous move, love.” He rasped before planting another kiss on my swollen lips. “Now go in before I lose my control.” he threatened and a muscle in his jaw flexed.

Parang bigla akong natauhan sa sinabi niya. I distanced myself from him and held the door knob tightly, afraid that I might lose my balance because my legs literally felt like jell-o.

“G-Goodnight again.” I breathed shakily.

He kissed my forehead. “It’s a very good night indeed.” he smirked. “Lock your door while I can still get a hold of myself.”

Kaagad kong isinarado ang pinto dahil ayaw kong makita niya ang pamumula ng mukha ko. I heard his chuckle on the other side. I leaned on the door and touched my swollen lips. Hindi ako mapakapaniwala sa kapangahasan ko. I freaking initiated the kiss!

Damn it. You should blame it to the pregnancy hormones, Scarlett.
