"Ha I win again!" Clary said,herself and Simon were in the training room and Clary had Simon pinned to the wall with one of her kindja daggers against his throat. Simon puts his hands up in defence "Come on Fray, you know that I'm better at shooting arrows!" He protested. Clary let's out a small chuckle and removed her blade putting her two daggers into her weapon belt before helping her best friend up onto his feet. "You're getting good," Clary said,the two make their way over to their water bottles. "I prefer training with you over Jace any day," Simon said before taking a sip of his water. Clary couldn't help but let out a small laugh as she took a sip of water. "Jace isn't that bad," Clary said tying her ponytail tighter, "Well no," Simon said" Occasionally. He just makes cocky remarks that aren't necessary,at least we have a laugh."
"Jace is Jace," Clary said "What do you want to do next? Sparing, or do you want to do some Martial arts?"
" I'll have a go at Sparing,"Simon responded.

Simon watched as Clary goes into one of the cupboards to get two sparing sticks,he took a deep breath " Fray? "He asked.
" Yeah Si? "Clary asked walking over and giving Simon a stick,
" We've been friends for a long time haven't we? "
"Well we have known each other since kindergarten," Clary said letting out a small chuckle "I say we have,why?"
" I want to ask you something, "Simon said looking at the wooden stick in his hand "and I promise I won't be offended if you say no." Clary had started to look worried and concerned "Okay now you're getting me worried," she said "What is it?"

" Fray have you ever considered becoming my parabati? "Simon asked. There was a moment of silence and Clary dropped her stick,this instantly gave Simon anxiety. "Oh God you're going to say no," Simon said "I understand completely,and I promise I am 100 percent not offended!"
" I was about to ask the exact same thing, "Clary said in a quite voice,this time Simon dropped his stick onto the floor "Y-you were?" he asked stuttering a little. Clary nodded "Yeah."

"You were always there for me Si, We grew up together." Clary said "You make me stronger,and I love you so much,I've been talking to Jace about me going to ask you but I was too scared that I wouldn't like the answer because of everything you went through." Simon slowly walked over to Clary and puts his hand onto her right shoulder "Clary,there is nothing that I want more," Simon said gently with a smile forming onto his face. Clary puts her hand onto Simon's arm and puts his onto hers looking at him straight in the eye a bright smile appearing across her face "Simon Lewis,I want nothing more than be your parabati," she said. "And it'll be an honour to be yours Clarrissa Fairchild," Simon responded mirroring Clary's smile.

"Are you okay?" Jace asked sitting on the bed watching Clary get ready in her Shadowhunters gear. After weeks and months of training the day had finally arrived for Clary and Simon to become Parabati. Clary looked at Jace through the reflection of the mirror that she was looking at "A little nervous," she admitted. Jace got up from the bed and wrapped his arms around Clary's waist hugging her from behind. "Don't be," he said giving the shorter girl a kiss on the cheek "You'll be amazing,you are amazing." Clary turned to face Jace "but what if I forget the Oath?" she asked desperately "I know it,I know I do but what if I freeze or something like in Middle school when I performed in the school musical of Annie?" Jace couldn't help but laugh,Clary frowned "What's so funny?" she asked. Jace tucked a strand of hair behind Clary's ear and cupped her cheek "Clary youll be fine," he told her gently "I promise. I can't think of a better parabati for you then Simon."
" Really? "Clary asked.
" Well not as perfect as me and Alec, "Jace said which caused Clary to give him a punch on the shoulder teasingly. "What?" Jace asked "You and Simon are a close second!" Clary crossed her arms together and raised an eyebrow. "All I'm saying is,is that if you don't go through with it you could regret it,trust me I know once you're in there you'll be fine." Clary hugged Jace tightly burying her face into his chest "Really?" she asked. Jace planted a kiss onto her temple "Really," he said.

Simon and Isabelle were the first ones to arrive at the ceremony waiting outside the room. Simon was also wearing his gear, "Okay she's not here she's changed her mind," Simon said.
"Simon there's still 10 minutes," Izzy said gently squeezing his hand. "I bet she's changed her mind," Simon said again "I don't blame her,being in rings of fire is scary stuff!"
" Simon,Clary's your best friend, "Izzy said.
" Doesn't mean she won't bail, "Simon added.

Izzy gave Simon a kiss on the lips to shut him up.
" Simon, "Izzy said as they part "Clary wouldn't bail on you,I know that she wants this just as much as you do,all the training you did,everything you went through together,the two of you deserve this." Simon gave Izzy another kiss on the lips calming down by Izzy's words. "How do you know what to say?" Simon asked. Izzy have her boyfriend a small smile "Because I'm always right," she responded "You know that."
" I do, "Simon said before giving Izzy another kiss.

Clary and Jace not long later arrived at the ceremony,Simon greeted Clary with a hug "God I thought you changed your mind," he said. Clary hugged Simon back tighter "Never," she said.
"You ready?" Jace asked as Clary and Simon part the hug.
Clary looked at Jace and took a deep breath nodding "Yeah,I'm ready," Clary then looked at Simon "Are you ready?" She asked Simon. Simon took Clary's hand and squeezed it tightly "I've never been more ready for something in my life," he responded.

Rings of fire surrounded Clary and Simon as the pair step forward into the middle of the room and link each others hands onto their arms. Clary looked straight into Simon's eyes as Brother Jeremiah's who was standing outside of the rings in his robes and with his eyes and mouth sewn shut voice travelled inside their minds *Perform the Oath. *

Clary took a deep nervous shaken breath and Jace's words entered her mind 'If you don't do it You'll regret it.' Jace was right, Clary was ready 'I can do this,'she tells herself before herself and Simon perform the Oath.

"Entreat me not to leave thee,
Or return from following after thee-
For whither thou goest, I will go,
And where thou lodgest, I will lodge.

Clary winced as Simon drew the parabati rune with his stele onto her arm,Clary felt a bitter sting biting at her skin as the rune was being applied but couldn't help but smile as she looked down at it. Clary then carefully drew the rune onto Simon's stomach as he lifted up his shirt a little. Simon had to admit it stung but he couldn't of been more happier that it was Clary he was doing the ritual with and that Clary was now his lifelong fighting partner.

It was a few hours later and everyone was at Magnus's apartment to celebrate Simon and Clary's parabati ceremony. Clary was wearing a dark blue dress that was long and flowing down at the skirt with strap sleeves at her shoulders,her hair was in a braid crown and her fierce red hair was flowing down her back and shoulders,and Simon was wearing a black suit and tie.

As everyone was talking with drinks in their hands Simon stood up on a chair and taps a knife against his glass. "I would like to make a quick toast,"he said. The guests all turn to look at Simon,Clary had a bright smile on her face looking up at her parabati,it was weird for Clary to call Simon her parabati,but it felt right all the same.

"I'd like to thank everyone who had come here to celebrate the parabati bond between myself and Clary this evening. I knew Clary my entire life and she's one of the best things that had ever happened to me,without her I don't think I would be the person I am today, I can't think of anyone else I would have to be my life long fighting partner, my soulmate in some aspects don't kill me Jace I died once I don't want to die again."

That comment caused a little chuckle to fill the room,even Jace was laughing a little.

"Today has defentily been one of the best days of my life,because of you Fray,I love you so much and I can't wait for what happens in the future and for us to fight side by side in our first battle." Simon raised his glass even higher "To Clary!"
"To Clary!"everyone repeated.

As Simon got off from his chair Clary ran over and hugged Simon sobbing "Oh Simon,"she cried burying her face into the crook of his neck. Simon hugged Clary back "I meant every word,"he whispered gently.
"I love you so much Simon,"Clary said with tears rolling down her cheeks "Forever and always."
Simon kissed the top of Clary's forehead "I love you too Fray,"he said softly looking into her eyes "Forever and always."
