Season 4 Episode 14: Down The Rabbit Hole

Lilith Mikaelson sat on the floor, head tilted back, with her eyes closed. The brunette's breathe was heavy, soft moans of discomfort leaving her lips. Klaus was in front of his wife, hands resting lightly on her shoulders, as his face fell into a concerned frown.

"What's wrong, love?" Klaus' accented voice filled Lilith's ears and she opened her eyes to look at him. Klaus noticed that her eyes were switching rapidly between their two forms. The ruby necklace seeming to slowly grow dull and lifeless against Lilith's collarbones.

"I need to feed. Soon." Lilith's voice was raspy and quiet, hinting at her hunger. Klaus knew what she was talking about and sighed. Lilith needed to feed every three days to keep her daylight necklace powered and she hasn't fed in almost two. Her hunger, unlike vampires which was gradual, was completely brutal and unforgiving. She'd be in pain till she fed.

"I know, love, I know." Klaus cupped Lilith's cheeks with his hands, thumb running across her skin. Lilith sighed and dropped her weight to Klaus' chest, breathing in deeply. Klaus and Lilith perked up when they heard footsteps. Klaus moved back and brought Lilith with him. The hybrid set her down on a coffee table before sitting next to her, arm around Lilith's waist. Lilith leaned heavily against him.

"Well, if it isn't little orphan Lockwood. Come to show how laughably impotent you are against me?" Klaus spork when Tyler and Caroline entered the home. Caroline held a laptop in her hands while Tyler held a blanket.

"I'm just trying to help my friends find the cure." Tyler growled at the older hybrid. Tyler opened the blanket, revealing the sword. Caroline sat down on the couch behind him. "Found this in your attic." Tyler held up the sword briefly.

"And you think finding the sword brings you closer to the cure?" Klaus asked as Lilith shifted, sitting up more.

"You tell me. I was playing around with the handle on the ride over, and I found this." Tyler unwraps the leather on the top of the sword, revealing some sort of turning device. Klaus gets up and walks over to Tyler.

"And what do you think 'this' is?" Klaus gestured to the device with a smile. Lilith stood up as well and stumbled slightly. Caroline noticed and raised an eyebrow. Lilith only glared at the vampire as she walked to Klaus.

"It's called a cryptex." Tyler shot her a look. "I've seen The da Vinci Code. You turn the different sides to the different symbols to get the translation on the other side." Caroline gestured to the table. "And with the magic of the internet, Elena sent over these." She held up pictures of Jeremy's tattoo. "So now all we have to do is cryptex away. If you happened to want to help, we wouldn't stop you."

"Right. Well, might I suggest using the magic of the internet to purchase an Aramaic-to-English dictionary from your nearest retailer." Klaus smirked at the couple after he spoke. Lilith chuckled deeply from his right.

"What's Aramaic?" Tyler asked, looking at Caroline.

"It's a long dead language. Older than many others." Lilith cut in before Caroline could answer. If they heard the rasp in her tone they didn't comment on it. Lilith was glad.

"Qetsiyah's native tongue, I'm guessing. You know, even if you had the best dictionary in the world, it could take days to translate. Perhaps weeks." Klaus looked at Lilith. She smiled.
