"I told you to call me back on Saturday now," Vivian said.

"Guyy! You have to see how I dosed off after that our call"

She looked at me and turned back to Vivian.

"Who is this??" she asked.

"She's my best friend, the one I was telling you about the other day"

"It's a lie!!! The infamous Lewa?" she asked

"That's me," I said smiling.

"Mad oh. You're all she ever talks about. Are you going to be in my class?" she asked

"I guess" I replied

"Let's go for assembly," Vivian said.

"Can I drop my bag?" I asked.

"Sure, just drop it on that chair" she said pointing to a chair in front of the empty classroom.

I dropped my bag and returned to them.

"Let's go," I said.

We all walked to the assembly room and lined up. The place was large with long pillars holding up the hall.

A middle-aged man mounted the stage and went straight for the golden coloured podium.

"Good morning students," he said

"Good morning Mr. Adekunle" the whole school chorused in sync like they practiced the line before coming to school.

"How was your weekend?" He asked

"Fine thank you and you sir" they all chorused again.

"Mine was very great thank you," he said.

"Let's go straight to our assembly activities, Isaac?"

A boy mounted the stage and began to lead the assembly.

"Before you go to your various classes, I want to make an announcement"

The school remained in decorum.

"There are two new scholarship students joining us today, can they please come up to the stage"

"Don't go" Vivian whispered in my ear.

A boy went to the stage and the whole school erupted into fits of laughter as he is walking.

What is funny?

I heard Vivian laughing too.

"What is funny?" I asked her

"Nothing, just laugh" she replied.

I began to laugh even though I found nothing funny.

"Why were we laughing?" I asked her.

"Because he is a Scholarship student" she stated simply.

So?

"But..." I started

"Where is the second one?" The principal interrupted the laughter of the students.

I didn't move.

"I guess she isn't in school yet" he mumbled to himself.

"This is Ismael" he pointed to the boy.

"He is a mathematical prodigy, make sure you try as much as possible to make him feel at home" The principal said.

"Anything you would like to say, Ismael?" Mr. Adekunle asked him.

"Yes, I want to thank the administra..."
He started.
