I trudged up the stairs, not looking or acknowledging anyone when I bump into a girl. She’s one of them types you get told to stay well away from, one of the bad girls who will mess with your life in just one mistake but I didn’t care, I didn’t realise what I was doing until the words were out of my mouth.

Watch where you’re fucking going!” I snap at her with a scowl that could blow up this whole world. Her face is surprised, as if no-one and I repeat no-one has ever went that far with her. She narrows her eyes at me and I angrily stare her down until a bright smile comes across her face.

“I like you!” She states, enthusiastic. “No-one has ever stood up to me like that.”

My face must be showing some of the surprise of what she was only moments previously because she chuckles and picks up her stuff and mine without asking for any help. She grins at me and passes me the items that I had dropped.

“Are you new?” She asks with wide-eyes. Her brown hair is so dark it’s nearly black and her eyes are so brightly blue they look like contacts but I didn’t think they are.

“Yeah, I’m new.” I reply after a few seconds of silence. She nods appraisingly as if that’s some of the best news she’s had all day and follows me up the stairs.

“My name’s Jasmine...” she trails off hopefully, the innocent expression on her face makes me guess that she isn’t normally this hopeful in front of newcomers, heck in front of anyone I’m guessing.

“Leslie.” I say. One worded answers and she might leave me alone. She seems like the kind of person I would have got along with but then Jordan left and well now, I’m not used to this kind of contact with a person. I wasn’t really afraid or scared that she would all of sudden change her mind and tell me that I wasn’t worth her time and that she was going to make my life a living hell because I mean it wouldn’t matter to me. I would never change University’s now that I know that Jordan is here and I’ve got to make sure he doesn’t ever.

“So, Leslie! Seen any boys you like?” She asks, questionably curious.

“Yeah actually I have, how about you?”

“Oh God, cool! Well I like Ryan Andrews and I mean Jordan is a total hottie but he’s going out with some girl called Leah or Lisa...”

“Oh, really?” I ask, tears threatening to prickle my eyes.

“Yeah, I’m not sure who she is though all I remember is seeing it on Facebook.”

I let out a sigh in relief. She had obviously seen my name on his because I had checked last night whether or not he still had me on there… You see it was really funny, neither of us really went on Facebook – heck, no-one I knew went on Facebook anymore and so my relationship was still In a relationship with Jordan Meyers and his was obviously still In a relationship with Leslie Jay Stewart. The thought brought a huge smile to my face. I wasn’t used to smiles and friends, it felt like a whole new chapter had been added to life, a life I thought I was happy with… But walking here with Jasmine, I’m going to have to do a double take on what I think and what actually is.

I stepped into my class and Jasmine told me she would meet me here after her class because it was just up the hallway. I smiled at her, gave a little wave and walked into the classroom. I took a seat right at the back by the window and stared out at the grounds waiting for the teacher to arrive.

Someone cleared their throat me and I looked over to the source of the noise. I expected it to Jordan for some unknown reason but it wasn’t, it was a completely different boy. He was obviously the same age as me and he had dark blonde hair and brown eyes, if I didn’t still love Jordan I’d probably be thinking ‘Wow, what a cutie.’ And he was but that didn’t even faze me.
