Seventeen years living in various stages
Experienced even ones unexpected
Memory replays like rolling images
A romantic movie collection I've collected

Sixteen, I've already decided to move on
Maybe it was always a one-sided feeling
A bruised knee I had before you left, gone
Songs on repeat while tears were falling

Fifteen, gave in even after everyone's judgements
Thread sewing back parts of a broken heart
Dreams so close, didn't needed anyone's compliments
You made me weak, I almost fell apart

Fourteen, considered his looks and appeal
Known little chance in our compatibility
Wanted to change, seen flaws to conceal
Daydreamed on our every little possibility

Thirteen, adjusting to fresh surroundings
Where dreams started, imagined ambitions
When time and hardships began coinciding
Visions turned vague, even with mere precognition

Twelve, clock stroke before graduation
Couldn't sleep, left everyone with a smile
A call changed events beyond imagination
Grasping onto golden chances became worthwhile

Eleven, motivation struck with few words
Experiences enlightens every discussion
"Never give up" recognizing words I heard
Regain confidence, instill great admiration

Ten, darkness fought again the light
Couldn't withstand words of storm
Surrounded by a gloomy night
Standards needed to conform

Nine, doubted heavily on my strengths
Focused entirely on obvious weaknesses
No one I met have the same wavelength
Different, should've change in their likeness
