Poem#30: Awoken

With this fluttering feeling inside
The butterflies within me awoken
Where my dream and reality collide
As I try to fix the mess from way back then

Back then, when I can't show you me
With such boundary separating us
I tried my best to let you see
What I truly felt, as it slowly turned into dust

Unspoken words written in liquid ink
With a scent of perfume, a hidden beauty
Burnt into ashes, as the thought of us sink
Drowned in this bittersweet reality

The sky above us became soothingly calm
No more sorrowful rain pouring heavily
Reminded me of this flower on my palm
Yet the spark of color began to fade slowly

A flower full of color is slowly withering
As feelings drift from the painful past
Butterflies fell into a deep spell dreaming
Into a sleep like death, now awaken at last

Somehow, I've awoken from this nightmare
Came back for what has been lost before
This flower grew for this person I care
Living freely as their wings began to soar

And in this moment, I knew that it's only for you
For your presence revive my flower's hue
Returning its warm color from its icy blue
Perceiving rare beauty from the person I knew
