Poem#49: Love Yourself

Is it possible to change our settled fate?
Shall I go back in time to fix this mess?
Saving you before it becomes too late
Thoughts of letting go turns meaningless

My mind traveled back to the 27th of May
A single wish granted, my only chance
To save you, be able to see you everyday
Though separated, satisfied with a glance

Turned down my pride, fixed every mistake
Changed even the slightest flaw I made
I'll sacrifice myself, I'll do whatever it takes
Stay still for I'll not let your dream fade

In every ripple comes with consequences
You're happy while I began to suffer slowly
An unending game of luck and chances
You didn't love me back, it felt quite deadly

Realizing that I should've loved myself more
There, I would see the true essence of love
True love finds a person worth fighting for
Brings you to a new world, brighter than the sun above
