nini looked over at ricky, who looked a bit upset.
"i'll go talk to her." she said as she patted his back and got up to walk to her room. as she walked down the hall, stella came back with a piece of paper in her hand.
"stella? what's that?" she asked the little girl who just smiled and made her way to ricky. ricky saw stella approach him and looked a bit confused. he looked back over to nini, who just shrugged not knowing what was going on.
"here you go!" stella said as she held the folded paper out for ricky.
"oh, what's this?" ricky asked as he unfolded the paper. stella smiled happily, "i wrote it for you since you're my daddy now!"
nini's heart warmed up as she saw how ricky's eyes softened. she noticed how his body suddenly wasn't tense anymore as he looked and read the paper.
"what was it?" she asked now wondering what stella gave.
"i wrote a letter and drew something for when daddy would come back home!" stella said. so that's what she probably was hiding when nini came to her room a few weeks ago.
ricky looked up as his eyes were a bit teary. "i love it. thank you, star."
"can i hug you?"
ricky nodded his head as she engulfed him in a big hug.
