The letter is supposed to be written in Greek. But, for reading purposes, I'll write it in English!

"You don't swim?" I asked Riley, staring ahead at the ocean. Hawaii was one of my favorite places.

"Not really, no," she said. "It's not my thing."

"It's not your thing, or you just don't know how to do it?" I asked humorously.

"We'll never know," she said.

"Oh come on, you can tell me," I said, turning to look at her.

She was pretty.

"I know how to swim, I just have a fear of drowning," she admitted.

I nodded understandingly, I used to be like that when I was younger. "I get it."

She sighed. "Um...Leon," she started, trailing off.

"Yeah?" I asked.

She got out a piece if paper and handed it to me. "I found this in my drawer, I thought I should give it to you," she said.

I frowned in confusion and unfolded the paper.

My little Leon,

I left this letter in the Hawaiian mansion because I know it's your favorite place. I want you to know that I love you very much my angel.

I don't know when you'll get this letter, but I hope it's soon. As I'm writing this, you're 17 years old. I hope you can forgive me, and I promise you I'll visit soon. The only reason I left is because I'm very sick, and I had to go back to Greece, Leon. You're currently a senior in high school and I don't want to be a burden on you.

Your parents will try to make you hate me, please don't hate me, Leon. I'm not a liar and I would never abandon you for no reason.

I want you to get into your dream university, I know you want to get into Marine Biology. And again, I hope you can forgive me.

If I don't come back in 3 years, you'll know I'm not in this world anymore. I love you, my only grandson.

Yours dearly,
Helena Adamos, your grandmother.

Tears immediately found their way to my eyes, and I turned and walked away, forgetting everything and everyone around me.

I can't believe my parents made me hate her so much for nothing. I can't believe they lied to me.
