"What in the world were you thinking, young man?!" Dad asked me, his features laced with anger.

My mother looked drained, like she had been trying to calm him down for hours.

I can only imagine how angry he was on the plane ride. His anger was fucking terrifying.

"Why are you angry?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. "It's not like I'm the one who tricked you into hating your grandmother," I scowled at him.

"You don't know half of that story!" he argued. "What did you think was going to happen when you went off the radar for two weeks?"

"You would leave me alone until I was ready to speak to you?" I asked sarcastically.

"I was worried about you, sweetheart," My mom said softly, causing my expression to soften slightly.

I was angry at my dad, not at her.

"I'm sorry, ma," I said sincerely. "It was nearly impossible for me to speak to either of you; you don't understand how heartbroken I was."

Oh, how I wish they saw the state I was in when I found out.

You know what? They absolutely can.

"CHARLES, COME DOWN!" I called, hoping he would hear me.

"Charles is here?!" My dad asked in disbelief. "You finally forgave your cousin?"

My dad and mom wanted me to forgive Charlie for the longest time, the Adamos family values its name and wouldn't want any news of a family feud spreading.

Their egos were too damn high.

"What do you w— Uncle Adonis, Aunt Gemma, you're here..." Charles said, staring at them nonchalantly.

"There you go," I said, pointing at Charles. "This was my state when I found out my own father was a liar."

"Watch your words, Leon Nefeli."

He's at middle name anger level, okay.

"Can we sit down? My legs are exhausted," mom said and I nodded immediately, walking over to the coach and taking a seat.

"I don't wanna be a part of this," Charlie said, walking to the door.

I could practically see the fumes coming out of my dad's ears. "You better stay and hear this, Charles, because boy do I have a story for you."
