ten years later...

dear diary,

wow, i hadn't expected i'd do this again.

i found this sitting on a shelf, and i thought i'd give an update on what's happening with my life.

in these past ten years, i've graduated uni, become a preschool teacher, gotten married to an amazing human being, and we have a beautiful daughter together.

mom and my step-dad are currently playing with my baby girl. jungah's expecting her own baby soon. i guess i did beat her to something.

everything's as perfect as can be.

i hope no one jinxes it. although, with all the suffering i went through ten years ago, i don't think i have any bad luck left.

oh, i almost forgot to talk about someone very important.

the man who practically defined my life back then, hong jisoo.

where is he? well, he isn't my best friend anymore, that's for sure.

but he's always in my heart. i'll always love him.

forever and always.

he did keep his promise for as long as he could, though. we did remain best friends until it was suddenly impossible to.

i have such fond memories of him. no one will ever replace him.

i know that's vague, but do i need to divulge details? it's not like this diary's contents will be published to an audience, will it?

anyways, this should be enough for now.

how did i end these things? oh, right.

i'll be signing off now.

xoxo, jeonghan.

jeonghan is putting the diary back in the shelf, when he hears his partner's voice.

"love, are you writing in that again?"

jeonghan laughs. "i guess i couldn't help myself. i do need to update every now and then."

"what did you write?" jeonghan feels his significant other's arms wrap around his torso.

"oh, i wrote about what's been going on lately, and what happened to jisoo-"

"jisoo's dead."

"i thought we've made this very clear a while ago," jeonghan rolls his eyes. "don't bring that up again."

"okay, okay, love, i'm sorry. i guess jisoo is alive."

"shut up!" jeonghan proceeds to hit his husband.

jeonghan looks up to meet his husband's eyes. jisoo's twinking gaze hasn't changed at all in the past ten years.

"i love you, baby," jeonghan leans in for a kiss.

"i love you too," jisoo replies, after breaking away from their kiss.

"now, i think your dad's about to tickle the shit out of our baby girl. we should check up on her."

"don't be ridiculous, jisoo. my dad's doing nothing to my baby."

"our baby," jisoo reminds.

the couple laugh together as they rush down to the living room.

the darkest chapter was now closed in jeonghan's life. it was a happy ending.
