Review:

The fact that this is a Makoto Shinkai film means that the animation is guaranteed to be SPLENDID, it actually accentuated the feels of the drama.

Basically, this film is about having lingering thoughts of that one beloved girl/boy you have that just leave you wondering the "what have", "could have", "should have", "didn't" (BLACKPINK's  'See U Later' reference here). From how I interpreted it, it dwells on that one innocent relationship we had as a child and despite not reuniting you still have that bond or something that you constantly think of each other but can't really do anything about it because you were still young and naïve. U getting me?

It's kinda sad how they just got too busy with their lives that they didn't even bother visiting each other or at least get their contact information. I have a feeling their feelings are just too shallow to not even make an effort of going to lengths for the sake of love. Also, I feel sorry for Kanae, her existence wasn't really necessary. She's just like Takaki - a coward.

I don't recommend you watch this when bored, it will just make you more depressed. This may be heartwarming but it can also be heart-breaking at the same time. Kudos to the good animation and music.

*TMI: It took me 3 years and 2 re-watches before I understood the beauty of this film.
