How am I supposed to remember every single detail perfectly, just to re-enact the old memories that we once shared together. That would take so much mental strength. Even the timing has to be right in order for it to be perfect

I clenched my fist in anger, as I slowly felt anger bubble in my petite body and my pace quickened as I walked through the dark hallways. Why is this so hard? Why am I still not able to think properly even though I know I’m 7 steps away from Death’s door. Oh wait, who the fuck thinks properly when they are about to die.

“You should stop looking so angsty,Doll-chan.” I felt Raito’s familiar fingers dig into my shoulders, almost near my collarbone. He pulled my back slightly and I fell backwards, this allowed my back to rest against his chest. “You’ll get wrinkles.” He chuckled, and the sensation of his throat vibrating against my back made me blush. I coughed awkwardly, and I stood up properly now, and shrugged.

“You look angry.” Raito frowned as he looked at the girl’s face. It was unusual to see such a frown on the girl’s face. The weirdest thing is that she looked pretty cute even though she was angry. Oh, he just wanted to squish her cheeks.

“I’m not angry.” Kira puffed her cheeks up and faced the other way and folded her arms. She slowly counted her breathing and attempted to put a neutral face on but it failed, very badly. “I just said you look angry, I didn’t say you were angry.” Raito smiled and he twisted her around. This, itself showed that she was indeed angry.

“Come on,” Raito gave her a grin as he reached out to grab onto her hand that seemed to fit perfectly into his. “There’s nothing to be angry about.” Once Raito said that, they heard laughter from the garden. This prompted both children to look out of the window.

There, in the garden is a girl who was no more than a year younger than Kira herself. She had natural red-pink hair that curled at the ends. Her green eyes complimented her hair as well as her slightly tanned face.

‘Oh.’ Raito thought and this amused him slightly. She was jealous of that girl. Well, that is no doubt at all since all the adults are pouring all their attention to the girl. If he was not wrong, she belonged to a family of aristocrats. Her family ranked slightly higher than Kira’s family but that doesn’t matter. Raito doesn’t care about that.

“I wished the adults noticed me more.” Kira mumbled, almost so soft that Raito almost missed it but he didn’t. “You have something better than that.” Raito flicked her forehead with his free hand and the hand which held the girl’s hand tightened.

“Would you rather have those boring adults pour their attention on you or me and my brothers?” Laito said it bluntly, not hiding any single emotion as he said that sentence. His emerald green eyes burned into her bright blue eyes and this made her gulped.

“You’re right. Who cares about them?” Kira smiled as she tip toed and grazed her lips against Laito’s cheek in gratefulness.

“There’s more pleasure being with you than those boring aristocrats.” Kira whispered softly against Raito’s pale cheek and after that one second, she turned away and quickly run down the steps in embarrassment.

“There you go again, daydreaming.” My vision was blurry but slowly, my eyes focused to see Laito’s emerald green eyes staring back at me. I couldn’t help but blink rapidly and finally, I realized that he was just an inches away.

My mind couldn’t help but create a translucent image of the young Laito’s face beside the current Raito’s face. It’s then I realized how different he has changed over the years. Especially his eyes, something I can’t seem to correctly describe. Something must have happened.

I had to do this, I had to but at the same time, I do not wish to do so. ‘Screw it’, I thought to myself and slowly, my right hand slowly reached out for his cheek. I gasped and hesitated for a moment but I allow myself to place my hand on his cheek.

“Why..?” I found myself asking but I knew he would not answer me.

One could say that her eyes that used to hold such hatred for this brother started to slowly crack and fall into pieces. Instead of the hatred the resided in those blue eyes, it started to show sadness, almost like her eyes were pouting. She cocked her head to the side and frowned before letting her hand drop to her side.

“What a pity...” She commented, those eyes used to be filled with life but now, even when they are shining so bright...it’s different. She pivoted on her foot and quickly walked door the corridor, this time with a fierce expression adorned on her face.

“I have to do it...I can’t continue seeing those wretched eyes.” She whispered against her breath as she quickly made her way to the nearest place where no noise or person can reach.
