After the ceremony we were assigned dorms. Y/N and I headed to ours and saw that it was a 2 bed room, with a small kitchenette and a bathroom. More than suitable in my opinion, seeing as only one of us needs to eat. Gods I miss food. Being a simulacrum has its perks. I don't get tired. I can basically surf the internet with my mind. My reflexes are faster than ever. But it also has its draw backs. It's not a big deal though. It was either this or death. I sat down on one of the beds and stretched. One of my shoulder joints wasn't working properly after taking a hit from that deathstalker. It was a little stiff and wouldn't go into certain positions. I could fix it but it would be a pain in the ass. Y/N had taken his helmet off and I saw his face for the first time. He wasn't bad on the eyes... or optics in my case. Hell if I still had a face it would probably be a little heated right now. He noticed me staring and asked what's up. "Nothing," I replied, Quickly looking away. He saw me rolling my shoulder, trying to make it function a little better. "Want me to take a look at that?" He said. "Umm... I usually do maintenance myself." was all I could manage. "C'mon, I built Grace. A simple ball joint will be a piece of cake." He waited for my reply. "I guess." He walked over and grabbed my arm, moving it into certain positions. If this happened before the accident, my face would be beet red. I looked down, avoiding eye contact. "Its dented." He said. "Its going to need to be replaced." "I figured as much. Ugh that's gonna suck." He looked confused. "Why?" He asked. I laughed. "Have you ever tried to replace a ball joint with one hand?" "Well no," he said. "But I told you I could do it." I looked at him. He had a small smile. "O-ok." I stuttered. Gods I'm an idiot. On the battlefield I'm always confident. But in social situations I'm always awkward. Part of that is because I'm not used to people being nice to me. Most people think I'm just another Atlas bot. My thoughts were interrupted as Y/N spoke again. "It might have to wait until tomorrow though. I don't have any of my tools or supplies." I pointed to one of my bags. "I have tools in there. And replacement parts in that one." He went to the bags and got what he needed. Before I knew it I had a new, working shoulder. I rolled it around, putting it in all positions. "Thanks. It feels better than ever." I hoped he could hear the smile in my voice. He smiled at me then said "We should get some sleep... wait, do you sleep?" I chuckled. "Kind of. Think of it as a power saving mode. My body can't get tired but my mind can." "Well then you should do that, and I'll sleep" he laughed. He grabbed some night clothes out of one of his bags and then went to the bathroom. While he was in there I rummaged in one of my bags till I found my hoodie. I put it on and laid down on the bed. I don't usually wear clothes, seeing as I don't really have anything to hide. But sometimes I wear it because it makes me feel more comfortable. Y/N then came out of the bathroom in a purple tank top and some gym shorts. Again, if I had a face it would be blushing. He was very toned and muscular. He looked over at me and smiled. "I like the hoodie." "Thanks" I responded. He then turned off the lights and got into bed. "Night Krystal." "Good night Y/N."

I heard movement. Activating my optics I saw that it was morning. Y/N was already dressed in the school uniform. I got up and asked "how long have you been awake?" "Since 0600. I went for a jog." He said. "Have you eaten yet?" "Nope. But I was just planning on having a banana." While he said this I walked to the kitchenette. I looked in the small fridge and saw some eggs, a pack of bacon, and some apple juice. "You need more than a banana if you want to keep your strength up." He laughed "You sound like Grace." "Well she's right." I started pulling out the eggs and bacon. I found a frying pan and started cooking the bacon on the small stove. He walked over and said "Here, let me help." I looked at him and said "Not a chance." He frowned a little. "Why not?" "Consider it a thanks for helping me with my shoulder last night." He thought for a moment. "Fair enough." I went back to cooking the bacon, humming a little tune. While I was cooking Y/N was unpacking his belongings. "Hey Y/N," I said. "Yeah?" "Let's make a deal. You handle my maintenance, and I'll handle yours." He thought for a moment. "Sounds like a good deal to me" he replied. A couple minutes later the food was ready. I poured a glass of apple juice and set a plate full of food in front of him. "This smells amazing." He took a bite. "This tastes amazing too." "Good. I'm gonna get dressed." I got my uniform and went to the bathroom. I know I don't have anything to hide. But it still feels weird to change clothes in front of people. Especially boys. I changed into the uniform and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked cute, if I do say so myself. I left the bathroom and saw that Y/N had already finished eating. "That was amazing Krystal." He then looked at me and smiled. "Speaking of amazing, you look good." I looked down. "Th-thanks." I couldn't help but wonder why he was being so nice to me. Being a person in robot form usually throws people off. They keep their distance. "Its almost nine," he said. "We should head to class." "Right."

We left our dorm and headed to our first class. It was Grimm studies with Professor Port. We were one of the first teams there. "Ah, team LAZR. I must say your performance in the initiation was quite the spectacle." "Thank you sir." I replied. We took our seats. Other students filed in until the class was almost full. Almost. Then teams RWBY and JNPR came running in, barely making it before the bell rang. They sat down next to us, and Port began class. Man this guy can ramble. On and on about how great he was at a younger age. Honestly I kinda tuned him out. I looked over and saw Ruby doodling on a piece of paper, much to Weiss' annoyance. I suppressed a laugh. Looking over to my other side I saw that Y/N also wasn't paying attention. He looked at me and whispered, "wanna play rock paper scissors?" If I could smile I would. I held up my fist and we started playing underneath the desk. Man he was good. By the time Port asked for a volunteer, which Weiss took immediately, he had beat me 16 to 5. We stopped playing to watch the battle that was about to start. Port used his blunderbuss/axe (blunderaxe?) To open a cage. A boarbatusk burst from it. Charging Weiss without mercy it attacked. She dodged the charge and tried to stab it with her rapier. The sword bounced of harmlessly. Her team was shouting encouragement. But when Ruby said anything she would tell at her to shut up. That's not right. Ruby's the team leader, That alone should warrant a decent amount of respect. Weiss finally killed the boarbatusk. Port congratulated her and dismissed the class. I looked to Ruby. She was clearly upset. We left the classroom and I told Y/N I would catch up with him later. He nodded. I could tell he knew what I was going to do. Weiss and Ruby were arguing and i heard the last sentence and it made my blood boil... or wires cross? I don't know what the term is but I was angry at her. "Ozpin made a mistake." That cut Ruby deep. I could tell. She looked down with tears in her eyes. I walked over and put a hand on her shoulder. She jumped a little bit and looked at me, trying to smile. "Hey Krystal. What's up?" "Are you ok? I heard what she said." Her smile dissolved. "Is she right? Did Ozpin make a mistake?" I took her hand and walked her to a bench. "No Ruby. Ozpin doesn't seem like the kind of person to do something without putting thought into it." Ruby looked more distraught. "But it's like Weiss said. I'm not even supposed to be here. I got moved ahead two years." I didn't know that. Sure she looks young but I thought it was just that. Looks. "Look. You passed initiation just like the rest of us. That alone is a testament to your strength. And Ozpin sees potential in you. And honestly so do I." "Really?" She asked. "Really really." She smiled at me. A genuine smile this time. "C'mon. Its lunch time." I put an arm around her shoulders and walked with her to the cafeteria.
