District 10

"Carter Densin and Hunter Kingston the Tributes from District 10". Those words rang in my ears while I sat on the Train on the way to the Capital. I was going to be in the Hunger Games, me of all people. I looked over at Hunter, he seemed deep in thought. I was really scared I was trying not to cry, but that didnt work out to well and tears started welling up in my eyes, my hands were shaking, and my stomach was hurting, I was going into panic mode. I stood up and walked over to the bar,I took the ice bucket and vomited into it. I was going to be forced to kill people, take their lives and have their blood on my hands. as I thought of this I kept puking into the ice bucket.

I sat down on the floor with my head between my legs, trying not to vomit. I felt a presents near me, I looked up to see Hunter, he sat down next to me and put a cold wet cloth to my forehead. "thank you." I said very quietly, he nodded his head and sat back down in his chair. i laid down on the floor of the train not caring about anything, my eye lids got heaving and that's the last thing I remember. when i woke up I was in a warm and soft bed. I walked into a room where Hunter and Davie our mentor where sitting down eating breakfast. "Feeling better?" asked Hunter " a little bit but not a 100%." I said sitting down next to him.

we finally got to the capital, and once we got there we were sent to be cleaned up and to get ready for the tribute parade. after getting cleaned up I was put into a room alone, and then the door opened, a women with blue hair stepped into the room. "Hello my name is Sara i will be your stylist." she said. she had blue hair, bright green eyes, pale skin and woke a yellow dress. She put me in a  gold cowgirl  costume, put my hair in braids and then to top it all off with a gold hat. i walked out to see Hunter in the same outfit, I walked over to him "you can pull this off better than I can" I said with a little laugh. "you look nice too." he said giving me a gentle push. when the parade was done we went back to our loft, i went to take a shower and take all the makeup and stuff off. after my shower I put on some leggings and a blue shirt. I walked out for dinner. as we ate Davie gave us some advise about the games what to do what not to do. I went to my room after dinner trying to sleep but I couldn't.

We had a full week of training and got training scores, Hunter got a 10 and I got an 8. I just couldn't fall asleep I got up put on a robe and walked out to the main room to see the TV on, when I looked I saw Hunter sitting on the couch."cant sleep?" I asked "No, you either," he asked "no haven't all week, you saw how I was just sitting on the train."

"why did we stop talking." he asked out of no where. "what do you mean"I asked

"well when we were little we hung out alot we were really close," He stood up and walked over to me. "what happened to us?"

"I guess we just grew apart as we grew up." I said looking down

"do you remember the time we snuck out to the field and looked at the stars." he asked

"of course, how could I forget." I walked closer to him and have him a hug. we spent the rest of the night reminiscing about when we were little. I fell asleep on him while he played with my hair, he carried me to my room and put me in my bed. in the morning we ate breakfast, I tried to eat as much as I could because this would be my last meal. before I walked on to the aircraft Hunter grabbed my hand, "allies yeah?" "yes" I said hugging him "try and grab a backpack and then run for the trees, climb into one, like we did when we were little, I will find you I promise." he hugged me one last time and he walked away.

as I stood on the pedestal, I was trying to keep calm, 24. I looked up and saw Hunter nod at me I nodded back 15. trying to breath normal 10. I climbed the tree, I looked out and watched the blood bath happened before my eyes. I tried to find Hunter but I couldn't find him. I feared that he was on the ground bleeding to death and I couldn't do anything about it. I sat in the tree and waited. it started to get bark and that is when the cannons went off I looked into the sky and I didn't see Hunter. "thank god hes not dead." I said to myself. I sat in the tree and kept an eye on the Cornucopia where the careers were. they all got up and ran to the woods. they were coming towards me and I started to panic. they ran right past me. and I let out a shaky breath, I heard a scream in the distance and then a cannon went off and I saw the girl from 8.

"Carter" I heard someone whisper, I looked down slowly and saw Hunter, and behind him I saw the boy from 7 coming up behind him. "Hunter behind you" he turned and punched the guy on the face and then 7 took his knife and cut Hunters arm and then Hunter stabbed 7 and then a cannon went off. I jumped down from the tree and ran to Hunter and gave him a hug. "I told you I would find you." I started to cry. "come on guys move faster" i heard a voice say "Come on up the tree" He climbed the tree and i climbed after him, I sat between his legs and we sat their quietly. I looked down and saw the careers and the boy from 12. they past us and walked back to the cornucopia.

I woke when Hunter shook me a wake, "come on we need to relocate and find water." he said he got down, I tossed him our backpacks and started to make my way down when my foot slipped and fell, i closed my eyes waiting for the impact of the ground but it never came. I peeked one eye open to see that Hunter caught me. "thank you I said hugging him. we made it to to the river where we stocked up on water. we made camp close by it started to get dark. we ate the dried beef that was in my bag and then I set up sleeping bags. "Hunter" "yeah?" "thank you for everything, and I sorry we grew apart when we were little"

I woke up trying not to scream from my bad dream, then a cannon went off. I looked up to see the girl from 6. Hunter sat up and looked at me, "you okay." he asked I looked at and started to cry. "no I want to go home" Hunter pulled me into his arms and kissed my cheek and he rocked me till i fell asleep again. the next morning we got up and walked around and did nothing much really, it started to get dark and we sat down and just waited. the anthem started to play and we looked up to see the boy from 5, the Girl from 3, hunter took my hand and held it like that for a long time. I looked at him and he leaned close to my and I leaned closer to him, we closed the distance between us and kissed for what seemed like a long time, we both jumped when we heard a twig snapped, "Isn't this cute, another stare crossed lover story." the girl from 2 i think her name was Clove said. we stood up ready to fight, Hunter pushed me behind him and he went hand to hand combat with the boy from 2. Clove threw a knife and it hit a tree and I dogged what every she threw. he threw another and i thought I dogged it but I felt a pain in my stomach and I looked down and it was deep in my stomach. I fell to my knees and then landed on my side. "CARTER" I heard someone, it was Hunter. I tried to get up. when Hunter wasn't looking the boy from 2 took his sword and thrusted it into his stomach too. the Careers ran off, I crawled over to Hunter, we took each others and and layed there together. "I love you Carter I always have." Hunter said "I love you too, and always will." we kissed for the last time and then are cannons went off.
