Haizaki Shogo x Reader

Side note: I will use the pronoun "they" for the reader. I don't know if I really have male readers, but I wanted to consider them, so for this one shot Reader-chan will be considered as Haizaki's lover (either girlfriend or boyfriend) and will be referred to as "them."
SHORT ONE SHOT AHEAD.

"Good morning, Shogo. I cooked you bento." (Last Name) (First Name), the lover of Haizaki. They smiled, gesturing the cooked lunch in front of the gray-haired boy.

"Thank you, (First Name)." Haizaki said, taking the bento and leaving his lover alone to go to the gym.

"Hey Shogo, are you still pissed off with the new member of the first string? Kise, was it?" Their question made Haizaki stopped on his tracks.

"Shut up, (First Name). I am the small forward of Teiko Basketball Team. I won't let him take my position away."

(First Name) sighed looking at Haizaki's retreating back. Ever since Kise Ryota joined the basketball club and made it to first string, Shogo has been way more irritable than before. More than that, they felt that their relationship is slowly falling apart.

"Shogo, let's talk!" (First Name) exclaimed, holding the former's hand.

"Don't be too loud, (First Name)! What do you need?" Haizaki asked nonchalantly.

"What do I need?! I NEED YOU TO TELL ME THE TRUTH! Is it true that you stole Kise's girlfriend? Why? Because he stole your position? You want revenge? What about me, Shogo? WHAT ABOUT ME?!" (First Name) asked, tears falling down their eyes.

"I did. I stole his girlfriend to get revenge on him. But I will dump her soon. She has no use to me anymore since I already took her virginity." They gasped when they heard what Haizaki said.

"YOU WHAT?! Shogo, you are not like this! Why? Does that position and pride of yours more important than me, huh? You're disregarding me now?!" They exclaimed while crying.

"Yes! They are more important. Yes! I'm disregarding you now. Let's break up." Haizaki said.

(First Name) slapped Haizaki's cheek before turning their back on him and walk away.

Now the day bleeds
Into nightfall

“I heard you had a game today, Shogo? I'll come and cheer for you so score lots of points for me okay?”

Haizaki knew he was an absolute asshole. So when (First Name) came into his life, it was like the light in the end of a dark tunnel.

They cheered him up, take care of him, love him with no return and made him feel special. He felt as if he was enough. That he was worth it. And so he treasured them so much.

But he knew he fucked up that day way back on middle school when he broke up with them. That guy back then was full of pride. Three years later, he still were. He disregard his teammates just to crush Kise. Just to prove that he's better than him. He hated the Generation of Miracles.

But after his 'talk' with Aomine, he realized everything he did. So he decided to change himself, to recollect himself. And he will get (First Name) back.

"(First Name) please give me a chance to prove to you that I changed. Let me make up for those times that I hurt you. Please." The black-haired male said, holding onto the former's hand.

So let me apologize
I'll make up, make up, make up, make up for all those times

Cause your love, I don't wanna lose
I'm begging, begging, begging, begging, begging you
Yeah

"You sure changed. Your hair is now black and in cornrows unlike those times in middle school." (First Name) smiled as they reminisce about the past.

"Shogo, if I give you another chance, can I be assured you won't do what you did to me again?" They looked at Haizaki's eyes, searching for the truth. For the genuine feeling deserving of second chance.

"Yes. Rest assured (First Name). I can't promise you that I will stop being an asshole and a jerk, but I assure you that I will treasure you, this time, with no pride or position involved." Haizaki said.

"Even though, you are an asshole, you are MY asshole. So please don't break my heart again. I love you, Shogo." (First Name) smiled. Haizaki smiled as well, and leans in to kiss (First Name). He may be an asshole, a jerk, but he is THEIRS. And that's enough to make him happy.

I'm off the deep end
Watch as I dive in
I'll never meet the ground

Crushed to the surface

We're far from the shallow now

Author's note: This is the loveliest story I made (seeing that the character was even Haizaki).

Songs are from Connor Maynard's cover. I didn't include the 'Someone Like You' part cause I wanted this to have a happy ending. I hope you understand the flow of the story.
