Imayoshi Shoichi x Reader

You have been struggling with your modules and your boyfriend Shoichi is not helping either. Due to the current situation of the pandemic, the face to face classes has been stopped indefinitely and instead changed into a modular and online class.

You and Imayoshi are classmates and have been dating for three years now. When the school announced the stopping of classes due to the pandemic, the whole Touou basketball team especially Aomine have been whiny about it. You can't really blame these basketball idiots though.

The thing is that, your mother told you to do you best efforts in attaining higher grades since you're just in the house, you are 24/7 available to answer your modules. Your mother thought that since you have nothing better to do, you can focus your attention to your modules and do great.

Was that the case? Of course not.

From the start, you were never a smart student. Sure you have good grades but that was because you are always paying attention to the lessons, jotting down notes, and asking the teachers some question regarding the lesson. The lesson was explained to you clearly with examples and elaborate explanation that cleared the looming clouds on your head.

Since the situation has come to this, you decided to ask your smartass boyfriend Shoichi to tutor you. What a great idea. Or was it? Shoichi agreed to tutor you, and so, fastforward to the tutoring day.

"Hey hey, Sho-chan, what about this?" You asked him, pointing to the equation on the printed modules.

"Hm? Oh, this. For this, the formula here is A = (Σ X¡) / N where A stands for the arithmetic mean, X¡ stands for data set values and N is for the number of set values." Imayoshi explained to you.

"Oh, I see. So this X¡=4 and N=16, 4 is divided by 16, is equals to 4. Am I right?" You asked.

"Correct." Imayoshi nodded his head as he ruffled your hair, "as expected of my girlfriend. You learn fast."

"Shut up and tutor me more or else my mom would definitely beat me up." You said, glaring at him while you fix your hair that he messed up.

"So demanding~ So what should I teach you next, your highness?" Imayoshi teasingly asked. You glared at him for another time before proceeding to the next subject.

That was your routine everyday when Imayoshi will tutor you. He would patiently explain it to you, however he would also distract you from time to time and tease you. A lot of times it would be whispering on your ears or wandering his hands on your waist which makes you ticklish or just plainly annoying you with the words coming out from his sharp tongue.

It was annoying and fun at the same time, not as boring as the first few weeks when you just started receiving your modules. This also helps you avoid stressing yourself. But if it was only Imayoshi teasing you like this when you two are alone in your room, then it was fine.

Why does he also needs to tease and distract you during online classes? It was.. embarrassing and you can't fully pay attention to the teacher's words. Sometimes you'll get embarrassed the whole session that you can barely remember the teacher's words.

Thankfully, you are close with your female classmates and can ask them anytime about what did the teacher said. Although it was another embarrassing moment for you, it left you no other choice. It was Shoichi's fault anyways.

After the first semester ended, your report card has been handed off to your mother. Seeing your satisfactory results, she was fortunately happy and asked you to invite Shoichi over dinner.

"You should ask Shoichi-kun to come over tonight for dinner and tell him to pay attention to his safety. It was thanks to his patient tutoring on you that you're able to have high grades during this semester." Your mother told you.

Hearing what she said, you were kind of disheartened and upset. Of course, she's right that you indeed attained satisfactory grades with the help of Imayoshi but it feels like she's saying you can't have high grades without outside help. You let out a depriving laugh. Sure enough, your mother still belittles you.

"Yes mom, I'll call him." You said, complying to your mother's words.

"Hn. It's really your good fortune to have found a good boyfriend like Shoichi-kun." Your mom's next words left your hand that was holding your phone trembling. It seems like your mom really has little trust on you. She didn't even think that you, her daughter, is the one bringing luck and happiness to Imayoshi. Instead, it has become Imayoshi bringing you luck and you were fortunate enough to be his girlfriend.

You inhaled sharply and exhaled deeply, displaying a wry smile afterwards before dialing Imayoshi's digits.

"Hey Sho-chan, my mom wants me to invite you for dinner, she wanted to thank you." You said through the phone when the line got connected, your voice trembling.

"Thank me? For what?" Seemingly noticing your trembling voice, Imayoshi asks worriedly, "are you alright [Nickname]-chan?"

"Yes, I'm okay. She wants to thank you for tutoring me. The report card was handed out today, right? My grades are all satisfactory so mom wants to celebrate and thank you at the same time." You said, holding back the tears that was threatening to fall.

"Is there still a need for thank-yous between us? You are my girlfriend, and since my girlfriend is in-need, as your reliable boyfriend, I should help you right? But of course, I would still go there. I want to see you and congratulate you in person." Imayoshi said. You smiled as you listened to his words. There was a sweet taste in your throat that's spreading to your heart. Well maybe your mom is right, you were indeed lucky to have Imayoshi as your boyfriend.

"Okay, I'll be waiting." You said with a smile on your face.

"[Nickname]-chan, you know I'm always here for you. If you have problems, or you feel awful, whenever you are sad, I'm here. You can lean on me, count on me. Okay?" He said through the phone, the worry is evident in his voice. Looks like he's still worried about the cause of your trembling voice earlier.

"Yes, Sho-chan. I understand... hey, Sho-chan."

"Hm?"

"I love you. So much. Thank you for coming into my life."

"Idiot [Nickname]-chan, it's me who should thank you for coming into my life and giving me the opportunity to become your boyfriend. I love you so much, too." Your heart was beating fast as if it was drowning in honey. The feeling is comfortable and sweet. Hearing Imayoshi say that to you makes you forgot about your mother's hurtful words earlier. You admit, it was indeed your good fortune to have met Imayoshi and made him smitten with you.
