Life isnt Fair

And I curse the wind tonight
For carrying my mother's words
Of how life isn't fair

But I curse myself more
For not believing it
Every single time

But when she said it
It was because I had to do the dishes
Or sweep the bathroom floor
While my older siblings got to rest

But I never thought she have to say it
When I gave my heart away
And didn't get one in return
Again

I never thought I'd have to hear it
When I sat with the moon on my face
Stirring the thoughts making mush of my mind
And you got to sleep soundlessly

I never thought I'd have to hear
Life isn't fair
When talking about love
Because you could it all to someone
But they don't owe an ounce back.
