Blueprints

We had so many plans
So many plans of adventure

And I keep thinking
Perhaps if I draw up the blueprints
And put them into action
That you'll come along too.

Though life doesn't work like that
And by then you may have blueprints of your own
That look nothing like mine

And I almost want to scrap them
Because they were meant to be ours
But maybe they were always just mine
