Unconditional || SasuKarin ||

So close but yet...so far

"Mama... Where am I?" Sarada sounding a bit drowsy from the pain medication the doctor gave her earlier. 

" Sarada!.. Everthing is fine right now your in the hospital. How are you feeling?" Sakura caressing Sarada's sweet face. 

"Okay..sore.. Where's Kaiya? Is she okay too?" Sarada memories shortly return she remember being attack, and the last thing that Sarada recall was hearing Kaiya voice. Shouting her name. 

"She's fine. Naruto and Boruto went looking for you girls. Naruto said once they got there you were out of it and your father was already there as well. I don't know how Sasuke exactly knew where you were at." Sakura replied.

"Kaiya... Kaiya must have met up with him at the tower.. She brought him back. She must of." Sarada smiling. "Where papa now? Is he here?" 

Sakura thought about what it must of been like for Sasuke to meet his daughter, the emotions flowing through him, did he feel the same about Sarada? 

"Your dad will come see you in the morning okay? Right now he's being treated by the medics for minor injuries. I'm going to run home real quick and pick up somethings. Shizune will stay with you until I return." Sakura planting a kiss before heading out. 

After a quick clean up the house and packing some clothes for her and Sarada, the skies were already dark. Sakura hated walking at night, more like she hated the dark. The back alleys took less time to the hospital but at night isn't wise to go through them. So walking through town was the best thing. 

From home Sakura had to walk all the way to the main gates in order to walk a straight path with light, which led into town. That way was much longer. But a much safer route. 

On most walks Sakura had a habit of daydreaming the entire way, since Sasuke return that was definitely the very thing she couldn't stop thinking about. Did this mean Sakura had chance? An opportunity for the three of them to be a family? Could Sakura have a shot in earning Sasuke's love? its worth a try. 

After a long walk Sakura made it the front gates of the village there she saw the only guard on watch being entertain with some sort of magazine. Not having a clue of Sakura being there. 

At that moment Sakura lock eyes onto what she saw as a ghost, she could feel the color in her face leave, Sakura's heart pounded even harder, the name of ghost was sitting on the tip of her tongue. 

"....K..Ka..Karin.." Sakura felt her hands tremble. 

"Sakura.. its been awhile?" Karin standing right in front her hesitant to even cross the gateway. 

"How.. is this possible. How are you even here Karin? We all thought the worst." Sakura said with shock. 

"After all this time I would think of the worst too. But I'm here. I got away from Shin. He still out there and still on a mission to conquer the world. Sasuke and Naruto need to know!" Karin taking a few steps forward. Certain to fine Naruto and Sasuke if she came in. This trigger something in Sakura, something she never thought would form within her. Sakura sought a chance with Sasuke, Karin would only destroy that. Deception was the key.  

"Sasuke isn't here. Nor is Naruto. Karin" Sakura stepping in the way of Karin. Karin stopping dead. 

"Nani?.. Sasuke isn't here? What about my daughter Kaiya? Sasuke must be with her. Tell me where they are at." Karin appear worried and hurt. Sakura saw it did indeed effect Karin. The plan was working. 

"Kaiya isn't here either..." Sakura persisted to go on. 

"This doesn't make sense! Sakura tell me where my family is at! Where is my daughter!" Karin grabbing tight to Sakura's uniform. 

"I hate to tell you Karin-san... but your daughter died when she was baby.." Sakura knew there was no way going back on this. Its cruel. Although in the end Sasuke will be hers. 

Karin's eyes had horror in them. She didn't want to believe it. 

"It can't be true.. Its not true! Kaiya can't be!... Shin..Shin has been after her all this time." Karin cried out. 

"Shin is only after world domination.. If he couldn't have Kaiya then Sasuke was his next option. Why do you think Sasuke isn't here. He wouldn't want to put his family in danger." Sakura lifting the backpack filled with clothes. Hinting it to Karin. 

"Sasuke moved on after awhile... Him and I got married. Started our own family. Because of the threat of Shin, Sasuke hasn't been here. " Sakura throwing Karin's hands off of her.

"...no...no..." Karin fell to her knees, tears crashing down to the cold stone road. Karin's heart broken in pieces. 

" I'm sorry Karin.. there's nothing here for you no more." Sakura looking down on the broken woman. Not looking back as she walk off. Satisfied with only her win. A petty win.
