Bill stood on the beach with Clayton Rideout, staring at the 6 boats that were pulled up on the shore.
"So youse paid tirty grand each fer them?"

Bill stared at the rusted equipment on the decks and the faded and missing paint on the hulls. A couple had holes in the hulls.
Bill lit a cigarette. " So? Can we salvage either of them?"
"Fer what? Kindlin'?"

"Firewood, me son. Firewood."

"Its not bes dat bad, me son. Da Baywitch and da Tuck-a-more are still seaworthy, but der engines bes a little off. As fer da other ones, I personally wouldn't bes takin' dem on the water ifin Ise were youse. Lessen youse wanna bes swimmin' wit da fishes, as dey says."
"So what will it cost me to get the Baywitch and the Tuck-a-more on the water?"
Clayton thought for a moment.
"Part from some hull work, it won't costs dat much. Wes can works on the hulls to dem two. As youse can sees, wes almost finished da dry dock dere. Once we gits some 'eat in dere, wes can work thru da winter on dey.
Deer bes a couple guys in da Bay dat can really do a gud job on the boats. Youse could 'ire dem to work on da boats."
"Or you could hire them."
Clayton laughed.
"Ise will bes lookin' after dat fer youse, Bill, buts what about the other boats?"
"Well your granddaughter, Tanya has plans for them."
Clayton nodded.
"Ise saw da plans dat she made."
He turned to the hill that was behind the two.
"She's bes wantin' to put a motel up dere on da 'ii, wit a rest'raunt dat looks out over da water and dem other four boats down 'ere on da shore and made into some kinds of hotel rooms or something."
