Shut up

There's one topic everyone is talking about,
And it always makes me pout.
So I think we should clear some things up,
Cause I'm sick of telling people to shut the hell up.

Yes, there's a pandemic, that much is clear.
But is that really all we need to hear?
People talk about it constantly.
It's driving me to insanity.

Hundreds of people die every day.
It's sad, I know, but what can we say?
All we hear is the same old thing:
"Stay at home all through Spring."

The message is clear, we get the idea.
A worldwide depression is near.
Cooped up inside is killing our souls,
I know we're just doing our roles.

The news continues to proclaim,
The adverts are all the same.
With all this going on it's hard to smile,
And do anything that's worthwhile.

We are doing our part, so that's a start.
At least COVID-19 won't tare us apart.
We stick together but couldn't be further away,
We miss people more and more every day.

I would like to say before we part,
And please, don't take it to heart.
I'm at the end of my tether, I can't take much more.
Keep the virus talk to a minimum or I'll hit the floor.
