Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

I don't want a lot for Christmas,
There is just one thing I'd like.
I don't know if it's something you'll do,
But please stop hiding behind your stereotype.

We don't know if your fake or real,
So we'll keep deciding till you tell us the truth.
All these stereotypes won't stop for centuries,
How can we decide otherwise without any proof?

Now-a-days we get told all the time
To be who you are and no one will mind.
Everyone you see decides to hide who they are,
So maybe it's time you lowered the bar.

You decide all year round who's naughty and nice,
So maybe you should take your own advice.

Does it really matter if we've been good or bad?
If we can't be ourselves then isn't that sad?
So Santa, if you care, lead the way.
For us to be ourselves, show us some day.

Sooner or later you'll realise what to do.
Escape the stereotype so the rest of us will too.
