As a gift, the Gods blessed the people of Nereida with power over the six elements.
The Gods and Goddesses of Fire, Air, Water, Earth, Ice, and Lightning each chose a family who they believe are worthy of wielding their element.
Individuals belonging to these families were addressed as the elementals: mortals who bear the ability and power to summon and wield an element according to their own will. Passed down through generations, the powers of these elements remained to those who have the blood of a blessed family.
Viddar, the God of Fire, gave the power of his element to the Ustrina family.
Merlè, the Goddess of Water, gave the power of her element to the Aecor family.
Ragnar, the God of Earth, gave the power of his element to the Vis family.
Maevè, the Goddess of Air, gave the power of her element to the Zephyrus family.
Azriel, the God of Lightning, gave the power of his element to the Cirillo family.
Sereia, the Goddess of Ice, gave the power of her element to the Liserli family.
But of course, the power over these elements come with a great responsibility. These families must protect the realm at all costs. With their power and with their lives.
