I SMILE AT THE SOLDIER. "Thanks."
He smiles back a little stiffly before leaving. I couldn't care less about him or anything really, I mean. . .Wow. This is some real wealth type of shit.
How has he never once told me about all this?
The house beats all my imaginations. Like the car is nice and all but is nothing compared to the fleet outside.
Okay, be calm. But that soldier, I saw him once before, where?
I hear footsteps behind me so I straighten up in the chair. The person walks up and places a hand on my shoulder. I look at the hand before looking up ever so slowly.
Rascal beards, wider nose, fuller lips, but those same round eyes, a bit red now, but still.
"Tosin?"
"Hey, beautiful," he smiles. Wow. I can't believe he's here, Ivan didn't even think it was reasonable to tell me that he was around.
"Long time." I stand up and give him a hug.
"Damn! Girl are you sizzling." He says, I smile.
"So, what have you been up to?" I ask him.
"Oh, Uni, in Norway." He says, adjusting the cuffs of his blue shirt.
"Norway? Most people do Canada or UK or America."
"Well I guess I love Europe more." He smiles. "What's up today? You're all dressed."
"Oh, prom." I smile. "Ivan didn't tell you?"
"Congratulations." He says, "Kola and I don't speak much these days." He shrugs.
"Hmm, thanks anyway."
"But seriously though, you turned out really hot." he's eyes are surveying me.
"So what are you studying in Norway?"
"Financial Accounting."
"That's good, so, life has been treating you well, obviously."
"Enough talk about me," he says. "How are you doing? Heard you were sick?"
"Uhmm. . . Fine. I'm fine."
"And your Mom?"
"Great, she's getting married soon."
"Wow, that's great," he says. "If I must add, everything balanced out well. Boma now has boobs." He laughs.
Weird. I chuckle slightly, trying to mask my displeasure.
"Sorry, that was a bit uncomfortable. Just that you look smoking." He says.
"Tosin, that's enough compliments." I drag a smile and plaster it on my face. "I'm just here because Ivan asked."
