10 ~ Together

You froze watching as the winds got violent and the red sand began swirling around again. You thought this would be the end, the soul, it would kill you and jin. 

The sand began swallowing jin again and you screamed in fear

But then you heard a soft melodic laughter

"well you sure are interesting, it's been a while since I've met a person who had passed my trial" the voice was softer and seemed gentler

"w-what" jin asked confused but he was still sinking into the sand

"I would say your little friend helped you out though" the voice continued. Then the red sanded figure, which was faceless again simply approached you and jin. Jin moved his hand away from the figure worried for your safety but the figure moved forwards and gently gripped jins wrist. 

"you pass" the voice said simply

"it's true that anger can be a disgusting emotion, but I can tell you have good intentions. I can tell you are angry for the right reasons and not simply blinded by the emotions itself" you were confused by the voices words but jin was sinking fast

Jin closed his fist shielding you from the sand once again, but as you guys went further into the sand you heard the voice speak once more

"good luck, there are seven trials in total you must face, you have passed mine. I hope this gift will help you when you are faced with a terrible decision jin"

You opened your eyes second later and jins hand opened immediately. 

"y/n are you alright" you were met with jin who was looking at you worriedly

"y-yeah" you said still confused as to what happened. Clearly jin was confused as well and you looked around seeing the bright red sand still. However, it was once again night time and the glowing light blue trees surrounded you instead of the red ones. 

Then you heard screaming

"dig more, they have to be here somewhere" you and jin both turned around confused by the screaming

Then you saw jimin, hoseok, yoongi, taehyung, namjoon, and jungkook digging into the red sand like crazy people. Mountains of red sand surrounded them as multiple holes could be seen around them. 

How long had they been digging

You smiled lightly at the sight and your eyes got teary as you realized everyone was okay.

"GUYS" you simply screamed out of happiness seeing everyone

They all stopped their actions and turned towards where you and jin who were a few feet away from them. 

"Y/N, JIN" jimin screamed and everyone rushed over to you two. 

"YOU'RE OKAY" hoseok sobbed out as he took you from jins hands. You laughed as taehyung held you close to his face and spoke "I was so worried" namjoon spoke

"where did you two go, we just saw you get swallowed by the red sand and that was it" jungkook asked and jin sighed 

"I-I think we saw a soul" you said and taehyung screamed "WHAT" he looked terrified and you remembered what the soul had said

You were confused as to what it was talking about, more trials, a gift for jin, a decision. 

You furrowed your eyebrows but jin spoke "basically it made me go through a trial, I'm not quite sure what was happening, but the souls are actually guardians for the everlasting tree. The forest is closely connected to the everlasting trees roots, so they are magical beings"

Namjoon seemed to be deep in though but spoke

"so, why did it take you and y/n but not us" he asked and jin sighed

"apparently it was about a specif criteria to take the trial, it was and emotion 'anger' apparently" yoongi frowned hearing jins words

"well why were you angry" yoongi asked and jin looked up at the worried faces around him

"I was angry at myself. I was angry that I wouldn't be able to do anything, I was angry that I might lose the one place I really felt at home, with you guys" jin said softly

"with y/n...I was angry about loosing everyone" jin continued and you looked up at him your heart hurting at his words. 

"well don't be" everyone was surprised by yoongis words

"you don't have to be angry jin, we are all in this together. We are research team one after all and nothing will change that. We will all make sure that we can go back home" yoongi stated and jin smiled. 

Then the expression on his face had disappeared. 

The angry expression you had seen before was completely gone and jin had teary eyes.

"right, I guess you're right yoongi" jin spoke and taehyung instantly went and tackled yoongi into a hug

"geez yoongi who knew you were such a softie" taehyung teased out and yoongi glared at him

"get off tae" yoongi warned and taehyung squeaked in fear and rushed to hide behind namjoon. You smiled seeing jin look happy and you felt relieved

"what is that jin" hoseok asked and everyone looked to jins wrist where hoseok pointed and they all saw the silver chain with a red gem located on it. The bracelet had not been there before

Jin tired to take it off but it was stuck, it wouldn't budge. 

"well that is worrying" namjoon breathed out. You then remembered how the red figure made of sand had grabbed jins wrist and you wondered if maybe this was the gift that the voice talked about. 

You were about to comment on it but you froze when suddenly something emerged from the red sand. Wooden planks that looked like a dock had appeared out of the sand. You all gulped in worry and jungkook spoke

"it's fine, as long as we are together we can make it to the castle safely"

You smiled up at jungkook and jimin gently lifted you from hoseoks hand and placed you in his upper jacket pocket. 

"you can rest if you want y/n" jimin spoke and you smiled appreciating you no longer had to stand. You finally knew how nice it must have been for the boys when they were able to just rest in the comfy pocket of your sweaters. 

"alright, together it is" hoseok cheered and you watched as everyone stepped onto the wooden dock and began walking.
