"Do I have something to be worried about?"
I answered him with a question kasi nga if he needs to tell me something, then he should let me know immediately.
Hinarap niya ako, and He looked at me with full of confusion in his eyes. "Hindi mo talaga alam ang sinasabi ko?" I asked him again.
"Kate, can you please tell it to me directly?" His eyes right now are pleading. Oh why does this feel so good to me?
I almost smiled at my thought, but I needed to be serious. "Nakita ko lang kasi kanina, your interview is trending, and Andy was mentioned.."
His head is nodding at each word he hears from me. "Ah...nakita ko nga."
Kumunot ang noo ko sa sinagot niya. Is he serious? Why does he takes this so lightly?
"Are you not bothered?"
"Why would I? Are you?" His face has a slight of humor, habang naninimbang ang tingin nito sa akin. I can feel his fingers drawing circles on my back while he is still holding me. This man is so calm! I don't even know what to say!
"Pasensya na...I wasn't able to say that I already handled it for you."
My eyes widened at his remark. Lumuwang ang hawak ko sakaniya, at mas hinigpitan niya akong nilapit sa kaniya. It is like he is claiming I am his.
He smiled, and gave me a peck on my lips. My breathing became heavy, and I felt the heat all around my body. "Shall we eat?"
"Thank you."
He nodded, and kissed my forehead. I cannot even describe how Lucas is like an answered prayer to all of my worries, and fears. He hushes them all with a single kiss, gesture, and more. I would love to get to know him more.
"Ser, nandyan na po ata ang hinihintay niyo. Ser Max daw ho ang pangalan."
Narinig ko si Ate Wendy mula sa maliit na bukas ng pinto ni Lucas sa kwarto kung nasan kami. Days passed like a wind. I always end up not doing anything kasi si Lucas palaging nakadikit sa akin. I need to step this up in the next days.
Ang issue naman ni Andy ay patuloy pa rin, pero may mga interviews na rin na sumusuporta new love affair daw ni Chef. Nagawan talaga ng paraan ni Lucas ang pagiisip ko tungkol kay Andy. I never met her pa talaga, but sana hindi na rin since mukhang hindi maganda ang naging relasyon nila ni Lucas.
I looked at Lucas in front of the door.
"Thank you, Wendy. Please let them in. Kayo muna ang bahala. We'll be down shortly." Utos ni Lucas while I comb my hair in front of a large vanity that Lucas gave to me.
Hindi naman ako mahilig magpabili but this man spoils me so much. Ang dami niya na ngang ibinigay sa akin pero hindi ko pa lahat nagagamit.
"You look so beautiful." He said while coming up to me. I giggled at his compliment. I will never get used to people saying good things to me. I am not thinking that I don't deserve it, I just don't know how to accept it.
He hugged me from the back in front of the mirror, while his sniffing my neck. "Lucas...May tao sa baba."
"What?" Mukhang inaasar ako nito, alam niya naman ang tinutukoy ko.
Umiling ako, at inangat niya ang braso ko para halikan yon. I think after gift giving his second love language is physical touch. He never forces me to do something, but he gives hints that I can never turn down.
"Ikaw talaga! We always do this every day, I need to focus on my sister. We'll do it later."
I mean it. Siguro, naubos na lahat ng hiya ko kay Lucas sa hindi ko malamang dahilan. Lalo na nung araw na narealize ko na we are familiar with each other. Though, I really can't ask him for now.
I saw him smiled at me, and hugged me tighter. "You don't have to do it, if you don't want. I just love touching you."
Kung wala lang kaming guests baka kanina pa kami nagstart sa isa't isa.
"I'm Max." The man in front of me that has almost the same height as Lucas extended his hand to say his introduction.
I shook his hand, "Kate, Liza's sister."
"Ah...hahah! Ayan nakilala mo na siya, Kate..."
Lumipat ang tingin naming lahat kay Liza na mukhang hindi komportable sa kung anong situation namin ngayon. When I greeted her, pilit niyang iniiba ang topic at para bang natetense siya.
"Are you blackmailing my sister?"
"What?" Si Max.
"Huh?!" Liza.
Lucas hands tightened kasabay ng mga sagot nila sa akin. "I know this is too forward, but my sister is nervous in front of me. It's like you're not a good man."
"Kate, I know Max, we have already talked about this." Pigil ni Lucas sa akin. I just threw my stare at him, and binalik ang tingin kay Max.
"Is she safe?"
"Look, I know we have not yet been formally introduced. I am sorry if you feel I have crossed the line."
Simula niya.
"I love your sister, and I plan on marrying her soon. Our relationship is serious, and I want you to know I will take care of her. I hope you can give us your support, sis."
Malaki ang mga mata ko sa narinig, at sis? I have a brother already? What about our parents?
"Max! Huwag mo siyang biglain!"
Hinawakan lang nito ang kamay ng kapatid ko na para bang sinisigurado niya na siya ang bahala sa kung anong mangyayari.
"Congratulations, Max, and Liza. We will come to your wedding."
Nakita ko ang pagkamay nitong si Lucas sa dalawa, at naiinis akong pinapanood yon. Wedding?!
Dear Lord!
"Liza, you agreed without even consulting it to me? Gano na ba kayo katagal niyang lalaking yan?"
Nakita ko ang paglapit ni Liza na hindi na rin napigilan ni Max. "Sorry, Kate. I really want to talk to you kaso marami kang iniisip at ayokong makadagdag."
"But, kahit na! Kaya nga tayo magkasama di ba? Sila Mama at Papa?"
Huminga siya nang malalim. "Sasabihin ko, Kate. Nakaplano lahat, hindi ko lang inexpect na malalaman mo agad. It was all planned. Sorry na."
Ang boses niya ang nagmamakaawa sa akin. I am just concerned. Si Liza ang guardian ko sa Manila, at siya naman sa akin. We promised that we will not leave each other no matter what. Physically man or emotionally.
"Max is a good person. I trust him, and he takes care of me. Sa paraang gusto mo para sa akin. We'll answer all your questions just please don't get mad."
No matter I do, my anger cannot linger for too long inside my body.
