Doyoung POV
"Does he have any other family?" "I think he has some aunts and uncles but... they're not here. I don't know where they live to be honest, they're not on very good terms with Tae."
The doctor wrote something on his form and looked at me. "This means that his younger sister Yerim would have to sign this to allow us to turn off the machines." He showed me a piece of paper and I stared at him. This little thing should decide whether my best friend was gonna live or not? "I'm gonna give you some time but maybe you should... start saying goodbye to him." He left and I went back into the room.
"What did he say?" Jaemin asked anxiously. "He said... we should start saying goodbye." My eyes started filling with tears. "I... this is too real... I don't want to say goodbye." Yerim hugged me and I put my arms around her.
"You're allowed to cry Doyoung. You've been so strong. Just let it out. You're okay." But I didn't. I pulled myself together, let go of the girl that was like a sister to me and looked at her. "You'll have to make a decision Yerim."
Nahyun started crying as if she knew what was going on and Yerim held her daughter in her arms, while deciding about her brothers faith. "I... I need some time. Could I just... have a moment alone with him?" "Of course."
Everyone got up and slowly left the room, except for Jaehyun. He was still sitting next to Taeyongs bed, holding his hand and looking at him like he meant everything to him. "Come on Jae." Johnny put his arm around his shoulder and dragged him outside.
I haven't heard Jaehyun say a single word ever since Johnny came back with him yesterday. I closed the door behind them and sat down on a chair.
I wasn't ready to say goodbye to my best friend.
