Emma POV

Time is flying by. After my last freak out last week, I've managed to keep it together around Mason. I tried my best to learn from Mason in order to be successful tonight. Chris has been keeping a close watch over me. I feel weird having his icy eyes follow my every movement. I don't blame him. I have full awareness of my frequent outbursts. I wasn't always like that. I think.

I let out a sigh in frustration, earning me three pairs of eyes focusing on me. They're worried I'm gonna lose it right now.

Alex, Mason and Chris watched me, their bodies tense. They kept their eyes trained on me until I finally said, "What?"

They looked away. We were waiting for Evan to come to the room. I paced the silent room, thoughts of the mission preoccupying my mind.

"How are you feeling?" Alex asked me. I turned around to face him.

"Ecstatic." I turned away from him. I feel empty. Tonight I'm going to do horrible things.

"Emma?" Alex stepped towards me, his face filled with increasing concern. Why is he worried?... I'm the one who might die tonight...

"I'm serious. What are you thinking about?" Alex's eyes studied me.

I smiled at Alex, and noticed Mason and Chris also giving me weird looks.

My smile only grew bigger.

There is no way that this isn't all just one big nightmare. That's right, tonight I will off my target and wake up in my bed then go off to school. I am going to be alright tonight, because no matter how scary nightmares are, they can't kill you. No matter what happens, it's just in my head. Nothing but a long nightmare I'll wake from at any moment. But no matter how much I try to lie to myself, I still can't rid myself from the truth.

I must have kept quiet for a long time, because Alex repeated his question.

"That killing the target, Iker, might..." be easier if I reminded myself that I must only focus on my survival. I shook my head.

----

Eventually the silence was disrupted when Evan finally graced us with his presence. He held a bag and placed it on the floor beside me.

"Do not even think of escaping. All you have to do is finish the mission, and you'll be alright." Evan placed his hands on my shoulders. "If he doesn't kill you. I will." Evan gave me a soft angelic smile. As if he didn't just threaten me.

"I will," I bit my lip.

Evan looked me in the eyes for a few long moments, then pointed at the bag. "Get dressed. Try to look like you're not actually trash." He smirked, looking disgusted. With that, he walked out of the room.

I'm numb. Everything is okay. I'm numb. Everything is okay. I'm numb. Everything is okay.
I'm numb. Everything is okay. I'm numb. Everything is okay. I'm numb. Everything is okay.
I'm numb. Everything is okay. I'm numb. Everything is okay. I'm numb. Everything is okay. I'm numb. Everything is okay. I'm numb. Everything is okay. I'm numb. Everything is okay. I'm numb. Everything is okay. I'm numb. Everything is okay. I'm numb. Everything is ok-

"I should get ready," I said as I picked up the bag.

I pulled out a red dress with delicate golden patterns. There were black leggings, golden high heels and a leather jacket. I also noticed there was make-up and everything I need to fix up my hair.

----

It took me an hour but I finally managed to straighten my hair, although it still looks a little frizzy.
