Ten - I'm Sorry Leigh

"Bellamy!" I yell after him as he speeds through the woods, "Bellamy! Talk to me!"

"Bellamy!" I yell after him as he speeds through the woods, "Bellamy! Talk to me!"

Bellamy snaps around facing me, "What do you want me to say, Leigh?!" He meets my gaze before dragging it to the floor.

"I want you to look at me, without glancing away, for one." I start, stepping towards him. He takes a step back. "I want you to not be afraid to be within a few feet of me," I take another step towards him, but this time he doesn't move, "I want you to look at me and I want you to tell me that this doesn't change a thing," I pull his chin up with my fingers, making him look me in the eyes. But I soon realize that he can't just let it go.

He shakes my fingers away, stepping away and facing away from me, "I can't do that, Leigh." My heart cracks just a bit at his words. But it fails to give up, "Why not, Bell?"

He turns over his left shoulder and I can see tears growing in his eyes. I want to comfort him. I try to, but he just pushes me away, "No! Leigh! I can't!"

I throw my hands up in the air, annoyed, "And why can't you, Bellamy?!"

His next words are like a knife to my heart, "Because I cannot let myself have feelings for a murderer. And that is what you are. A cold-hearted murderer." And with that, he stalks off, back towards camp laving me to fall to the floor broken. And once again, I am that broken little girl, begging for things to be different. For Mama and Papa to be here. To not be a monster.

But Mama and Papa aren't here. And I am a monster. It is just how things have always been and always will be. I sit out in the forest for hours, and before I know it, darkness has fallen over the Earth. I stand, glancing at the spot where the man I was starting to trust, broke me. But that cannot be dealt with right now. I should have remembered. It is my fault.

"Hodnes laik kwelnes," I repeat to myself over and over again as I head back. Love is weakness. I don't know how many times I repeated that before the trees around me turned to bodies of the campers I have been living with.

"Did you see that?" One of them yell, pointing to the sky. I follow his finger to see a shooting star.

"Check it out!" Another yells.

Soon everyone is outside. Well besides Bellamy. But one of the other delinquents soon fixes that, "Bellamy, get out here." A minute after the delinquent called him, Bellamy opens his tent to reveal him, shirtless, and two girls wrapped in blankets. My heart hurts at the sight but I can't find it in me to look away. Bellamy makes eye contact with me before he pulls one of the girls in and kisses the top of their head.
