• Birthday Problem •

Anne ran downstairs to find Marilla and Matthew eating breakfast.

"You started before me?" Anne said sadly. She was trying to hold back her tears . She was 15 almost 16! She was longing for this moment for years . She expected Marilla and Matthew to have a cake and presents on the table , she guessed that was just her imagination. Marilla and Matthew would never do such a thing .

" I'm sorry Anne, you slept in and Matthew has to get to the farm. Jerry is waiting outside . Matthew now that I think about it , yesterday Jerry told me he wanted to talk let's go and see what that was about" Marilla winked at Matthew before standing up . Anne had a small smile on her face.

" I don't see any eggs left. Did you make enough?" Marilla faked an eye roll.

" ah. Old age dear. I must've forgotten you were here." Anne nodded her head smiley sadly.

"I get it. It's my birthday! You couldn't even remember that? I've been here at green gables for two years now and you two can't even remember my birthday? My own friends didn't remember, I Hope gilbert remembered ." At this point Anne was slowly sitting down on her chair.

" oh Anne , just wait" Marilla and Matthew came back with a box .

"What's this?" Anne smiled whipping a tear from her cheek.

" it's a present silly! I didn't make enough eggs because I made you some pancakes, it took me a long time but I did it for you. You're a Cuthbert now , we'll never forget about you" Anne hugged the two siblings and opened her gift.

It was a green dress with puffed sleeves. She smiled . It had emeralds and some lace around the neck.

"Oh Matthew and Marilla , I can't thank you enough. This , this dress is my life long dream! It's exquisite , I'll wear this to church on Sunday." Marilla smoked to herself. She thought of what a hound lady Anne was becoming.

" Would you like to wear you hair up today? You can wear the pink dress Gilbert got you for Christmas." Anne screamed with excitement.

After an hour of her messing up on her hair Anne had finally did it right. She walked down stairs with the pink dress Gilbert for her and her hair up . (Like her hair in the last ep of season 3).

Anne heard Diana screaming her name . She ran outside to see Diana panting .

"Oh Anne , it's Gilbert . He's hurt! You need to come with me" Anne felt as though her life turned upside down. Gilbert couldn't be hurt on her birthday or on any day at that matter.

"Wait , how do you know?" Diana tried to hide her smirk. Everyone in Avonlea knew Anne .

"I was walking to green gables to wish you a happy birthday and I saw Gilbert laying on the ground. I rushed over here as fast as I could" Anne looked at Diana's hair. It was up and she had a fancy dress on. No one had thought of Anne seeing Diana in her clothes like that.

The party theme was growing up. All the girls wee to wear their hair up and their fanciest dresses. The boys were to wear tuxedos and have a 'date' there. Here are the 'dates'

Gilbert was waiting for the pair to arrive . He just wanted to speak to anne .

He saw a certain red headed girl running towards him.

"Gilbert! Sit down. You need to rest . Diana call the doctor" Gilbert laughed at Anne .

"Anne , I'm fine . Really." Anne sat down and hugged Gilbert . " oh thank god. I don't know what I would do if I ev-" Gilbert chuckled .

" oh and by the way , you look absolutely beautiful . The dress looks fantastic on you" Anne blushed . Her heart filled with joy whenever Gilbert spoke.
