WEEK 2 OF THE HOLIDAY LOCH NESS.

Chapter 10.

Well we made it to loch ness and that all I can see is a beautiful place that I would come back to.
I have seen some beautiful place's I'm my time but being hear in loch ness well there is only one thing I can say amazing.

This time we wanted to do some thing different and Thor, had chosen camping, at first I did not thing it would be save but Thor reused me that everything will be ok.

So hear we are setting up the family tent that Thor, had bought. It was big enough to fit at least 8 people in there so it was pretty big and a lot of room and space and enough for Pete to play with his toys.

Fist I needed to do some research about loch ness and see what things we could do.

Loch Ness is a beautiful and scenic part of Scotland with rolling hills and the famous Loch Ness – the home of the cryptozoological Loch Ness Monster. The area is just as famed for its beauty and history as it is for is mysterious monsters.

Urquhart Castle

Situated on the edge of Loch Ness, 21 miles south-west of Inverness, Urquhart Castle was once one of Scotland’s largest castles. Its ruins include a tower house with a fantastic view over the Great Glen. The castle dates back to between the 13th and 16th century, and it played a role in the Wars of Scottish Independence (14th century), then became a royal castle and was raided by the MacDonald Earls of Ross, even after having changed hands. The castle was abandoned in the 17th Century; but now that its ruins are open to visitors, Urquhart Castle is one of the most visited castles in Scotland.

Cruise Loch Ness

There are many cruise companies on Loch Ness to choose from to view the scenery and local wildlife from the water. One of the most highly rated is Cruise Loch Ness, who do a number of boat tours including a Loch Ness Monster hunting trip, daily relaxing cruises to enjoy scenic Loch Ness and evening cruises to soak up the beauty of the sunset. The company has been running for 45 years, and cruises are informative and informal.

Highlanders’ Museum

Situated in Fort George’s former Lieutenant Governors’ House, the Highlanders’ Museum has an estimated 30,000 artefacts, documents and photographs on display and is the largest regimental museum in Scotland outside of Edinburgh. Inside the Museum, visitors can see rooms of the Governor’s house as they would have been, such as the ante room and dining room. Also, a vast collection of medals, uniforms and historic paintings of officers can be viewed here.
