EPILOGUE
"Thank you." I smiled taking the drink from his hand, a fresh one he made just for me.
"Thought it would just fit the mood."
I laughed and nodded as he sat down next to me putting his feet up on the table.
"I'm sure it doesn't have some illegal drug in it."
"It might."
"Oh? What kind?" I asked fascinated.
"Maybe nothing more than an aphrodisiac."
He started smiling as I punched him in the shoulder. I sipped it lightly and set it down.
"Might just be worth it."
I could easily love a man who hid me from the chaos and smell of death.
It was just something I'd see on TV now if we ever got reception out here.
The sun was setting and turning the beautiful color of my drink.
"It feels like just yesterday I was suffering."
"I think it'll always feel like that." Aaron pulled me into him and he rested his head on mine as his hand gently grazed one of my scars.
"Promise me-"
"I promise." He responded knowing exactly what I was going to say.
"I wanna stay here forever."
"Me too."
We watched the sunset go down in what was probably considered paradise to most.
I'm sure something would come and ruin it for us but I was just absorbing this for now.
