when alyssa had went to the wolfhard house with syd and sam, she didnt get out of the car. she knew that when she saw finn, all she would want to do is cry and curl up in his arms.
but she couldnt. she needed to get herself together and take care of everything first.
finn was deeply hurt by this. all he wanted to do was comfort her.
he kept thinking about what sam had said prior to their interaction at the shop earlier.

all he wanted was to hold her.
when the girls plus sam got home, alyssa put the sleeping baby in her room.
sam had made dinner
and sydney was sitting on the couch under a blanket.
alyssa: you alright syd?
sydney: yeah just- just worried.
alyssa: everything's gonna be fine. i promise.
sydney: you dont know that!
alyssa: i never break my promisies ... except one.
the girl had suddenly realized that by neglecting finn, she had broken the promise of being honest with him.
alyssa: i'll be right back.
she grabbed her jacket and her skateboard and went towards the wolfhard residence, once again.
she knocked on the door quite eagerly.
nick: hey-
alyssa: where's finn?
nick: FINN DOOR
finn: whAT- oh. hey.
alyssa: can we talk?
finn: yeah. are we walking or?
alyssa: yeah. just really quickly though.
he nodded and walked outside in his beanie.
alyssa: look i'm really sorry about earlier i just-
finn: its fine. you dont have to explain yourself.
alyssa: yeah but i do. i promised you id always be honest with you-well rather not lie to you. i dont break my promises.
finn: its okay. you were just stressed.
alyssa: i cant be emotional right now. i have to take care of syd and lyv and my parents. i need you to understand that i didnt mean what i said in the shop to be rude. i just- i couldnt be a mess just yet. i still cant.
finn: look, i get it. if something similar to me happened, i'd probably be the same way. you dont need to explain yourself to me.
alyssa: i-im sorry.
finn: stop it. dont do that.
alyssa: do what?
finn: look at me like that.
the two stood in silence. their thoughts taking over their minds.
alyssa: i have to head back. i'll see you.
finn: yeah.
alyssa: thanks for babysitting earlier.
finn: no problem.
alyssa: bye.
finn waved her off and walked inside.
what had just happened? all she wanted to do was apologize for being a bitch and he was brushing it off.
reluctantly she skated off and toward her house.
