the call of her name startled her. but she just needed fresh air.
he poked his head out to see her sitting on the roof.
finn: hey.
alyssa: hey.
finn: this your room?
alyssa: yeah.
finn: wanna give me a tour
the girl laughed at him and smiled
alyssa: why not.
she climbed back through and sat on her bed. and finn got a good look of what was around him.
a guitar on the wall, a ukelele next to her bed.
finn: you play the guitar
alyssa: not anymore. sydney is way better at it than i am. i stopped playing when i started dancing
finn: and the ukelele?
alyssa: sometimes i'll sing my cousins to sleep if theyre visiting. they just left a week ago
finn: interesting
alyssa: yeah.
finn: can i?
alyssa: go for it
he grabbed the guitar off the wall and started playing the notes scattred across her desk.
finn: this a song you've been writing?
alyssa: something like that.
finn: hey you wanna go get ice cream? just the two of us?
alyssa: um like-
finn: yes like a date.
alyssa: i was gonna say like right now? but okay
finn: so lets go
the girl smiled at him and stood up.
alyssa: down the tree, its faster
they climbed down the tree and walked off
finn had wanted to hold her hand the whole way, but he was too scared to actually do it
they got to the shop and waltzed in. alyssa coming eye to eye with her ex boyfriend, kyle. the first one who left her for syd
kyle: hey alyssa
alyssa: cookies and cream. small
finn: uh i'll take a mint chocolate chip. small
kyle: $3.25
finn: thats only the price of one-
kyle: free for the lady
alyssa: fuck off kyle
kyle: oh now thats-
alyssa: jesus christ, just get the ice cream so we can stop this god awful interaction
she grabbed her wallet and left some money on the counter and put her hand on finns arm
alyssa: grab mine for me, please?
finn: yeah sure
alyssa: thank you
she went and sat down while kyle scooped ice cream and watched the interaction
finn grabbed them and thanked the boy
he sat down with alyssa and she smiled
alyssa: i'm sorry about that. ex-boyfriend who broke up with me to be with sydney so its just difficult to see him sometimes
finn: yeah yeah its fine
alyssa: so auditions are tomorrow
finn: you excited?
alyssa: yeah i guess. kinda worried.
finn: why?
alyssa: just auditions, nerves. um, youre gonna judge fairly right?
finn: yes ma'am.
alyssa: ew dont call me ma'am.
they smiled at eachother and continued eating ice cream
the night went on as they flirted and jokes around. when finn finally got the guts to hold her hand as they walked home
his hand was inching toward hers slowly. brushed against it a few times. then he intertwined their fingers as alyssa admired the moon
finn: i had fun tonight
alyssa: me too. thanks for this.
finn: anytime. i think theyre in the car waiting for me so. good luck tomorrow
alyssa: appreciate it. goodnight finn
finn: goodnight alyssa.
they said goodbye and finn squeezed her hand as she walked away.
she smiled at him and high fived sam.
she went back inside and walked past sydney and her dad hollering a goodnight with a smile on her face.
she got on her phone and saw that her mom had texted her
momma: hey baby! know its been a couple weeks, but your stepdad and i would love to have you here, if youre still considering that is. hugs and kisses, love you lots. -mom
alyssa: hey mom! so glad to hear that! would love to move out there. have an audition tomorrow and the move is pending, havent talked to dad or syd yet. talk soon, love you. -lys
the girl smiled to herself and fanced around her room. she went to sleep content with her day.
as sam drove the boys home, he looked at finn smiling at his phone.
earlier in the night alyssa took his phone and spammed his camera roll, being cute. they took pictures together, and of eachother. and they had both never looked happier.
finn also went to sleep wih a smile on his face. content with the way he let his crush take over his anxiety. maybe alyssa could really help him.
