what everyone didnt know was that there was an unpredicted storm rolling in.
and what almost everyone else didnt know, was that both finn and alyssa, were deeply scared of thunder.
the thunder woke up the small girl in the guest room, and the tall boy sleeping on the couch. sam was already up, getting ready to check on her.
sam: hey uh, can you go check on alyssa?
finn: hm? yeah sure. is she okay?
sam: thunder scares her and i'm really tired
finn: uh, okay?
he walked down the hall to the only closed bedroom door
and he softly knocked
he heard a quiet "come in"
and found the small girl sitting up in the bed with dried tears on her cheeks
finn: woah. are you okay?
alyssa: thunder is scary sometimes
finn: yeah i get that. do you want me to stay up here?
alyssa: only if you want to.
he climbed under the sheets and laid his head down on the pillow.
finn: so what happened earlier?
alyssa: nothing out of the ordinary. listen you dont have to pretend to care. i know sam sent you up.
finn: well yeah he sent me up, but he didnt tell me to stay.
alyssa: are you sure?
finn: yeah. i promise.
alyssa: okay.
finn: i'm tired
alyssa: then go to sleep
finn: but the thunder-
alyssa: i'll go to sleep if you do
finn: okay fine. but thunder scares me too so if something grabs you, its just me
alyssa: goodnight finn
the girl turned inward towards the boy while he shifted until he was comfortable. facing the girl
€ alyssa's pov €
the crack of thunder woke me up, but it was more so the hand that reached for my arm
i grabbed his arm and slid under it, enjoying the warmth radiating from him
he put his other arm around me and i fell asleep again. not hearing the thunder for the rest of the night.
€ sam's pov €
when finn didnt come back down he decided to check on the both of them. opening the door he was greeted with finn and alyssa snuggled up under the blanket.
he took a quiet picture of them and went back to the couch to fall asleep
when morning came, the pair in the guest room hadnt moved an inch.
the girl's alarm went off and woke up the both of them.
finn: alyssa?
alyssa: hm?
finn: turn off your alarm
alyssa: but then i have to get up and youre so warm
finn: thanks. but you have to go to school.
alyssa: okay fine.
she got up and went to the bathroom to change.
she out her hair in a messy bun and grabbed her bag.
she screamed out for sam who was getting up and ready
and she started making breakfast
the day went on and her syd hadnt talked at all
they saw eachother at dance that night and only nodded at eachother to confide in a truce
they prepped for auditions the next day and went home around 8:00
the girls were talking once again and told jokes as sydney rode her bike and alyssa skated down the streets.
sydney: so whats up with you and finn?
alyssa: nothing?
sydney: come on, he obviously likes you
alyssa: thats so not true
sydney: yes it is!!
they got home and sydney out her bike away as alyssa waited for her at the door
they walked in still going back and forth on the subject.
alyssa: i'm telling you he- woah?
sam had helped himself to the moore household and made dinner for everyone, and brought the boys with him.
jack: oh look theyre home
sydney: hello
noah: so you guys are okay now?
alyssa: we're sisters, we kinda have to be.
sydney: ouch.
the girls ran upstiars to change and shortly came down to join for dinner
alyssa came down first, in leggings and a nasa tank top
and then sydney came down in a crop too and shorts, with her makeup redone
alyssa rolled her eyes as all the boys, including finn looked at her
they all started eating when syd spoke up
sydney: so i'm not auditioning tomorrow
alyssa: what? why?
sydney: because if i win or if you win it'll tear us apart and that'll put a lot of stress on dad. so this is just easier
alyssa: are you sure?
sydney: dude you want this way more than i do. i'm sure.
alyssa: thanks syd
the two girls stood up and did an excruciatingly long handshake to show their gratitude of eachother.
finn: wild
finn wanted to ask out alyssa. he had a small crush on her.
he was waiting for the right moment when it was just the two of them.
later, everyone was playing video games and when finn had stopped, he realized that alyssa wasn't there.
finn: hey syd? where's the bathroom?
sydney: um i think my dad is in the one down here so upstairs and first door to your left
finn: cool thanks.
he had wandered upstairs and looked for the girl. he found an open window at a window seat in a room
finn: alyssa?
alyssa: out here
