Chapter 14: Suicide

With the words still in my head I picked up the pace and ran and ran letting my feet take me farther and farther into the forest. All of a sudden I fell into a lake. It was cold but that wasn't the problem as I locked down to the water what I saw made me jump.

Once upon a time there used to be a Carmel white wolf. Now stood a golden wolf with a streak of black running through the body in the middle and on the paws their was red.

"What happened?" I said aloud.

We have changed Laina and with this change their will be hell to pay for anyone who has crossed us these past few years.

My wolf...I hadn't talked to her in awhile. I kept looking at my new fur and then my eyes widened and I let out a gasp as I looked down to my stomach.

The baby, we will be keeping it.

"No we're not and that's final" I thought of my human form so that I could change back but I couldn't. "What are you doing change back now."

You think this change has come because of all your crying, please. Yes we where betrayed and lied to but you have been playing the victim far to long and I'm tired of it. It's time for revenge and if you won't take the chance then I will so for now will stay in wolf form.

"I'm the human and I have final say, change back now"

Their was a pain in my head and my stomach. It felt as though a million knives where being stabbed into my body. I felt dizzy and it felt as if i was swaying but my wolf looked normal.

"What are you doing to me?"

Not to you but for us.

I suddenly felt very sleepy and my eyes where closing, my body swayed side to side but my wolf wasn't moving. My eyes where closing and closing.

"What's

happen

ning.."

Finally she was gone. The reflection in the pond was exactly what I had wanted in my eyes their was no trace of her.

I smirked.

I lifted my head to the moon above me and I howled, rejoicing.

My mother was in the hospital, had tried to commit suicide. It was time to know why.

I got out of the lake and shook my body off.

Their was a noise. My ears perked up and I listened carefully for another sound. There it was again a howl followed by more howls.

I realized now what it was an Alpha calling for it's members. My eyes widened in surprise as I finally noticed where I was. The lake and the waterfall, the packs land.

The corner of my lips turned up into a smile. Perfect timing I could go and find out what happened to my mother and nobody would recognize me.

I started running towards the pack house and then I shuffled in with the other pack members. Daniel stood on the platform he looked around but didn't seem to notice anything different, guess he got old. He should know when their's a wolf that doesn't belong but then again technically I'm still part of the pack I just look different.

"I have gathered you here to day to report terrible news" He stopped and looked around and then started up again. "As some of you know someone in our pack tried to commit suicide today, Mackayla the beta's wife and the mother of the runaway Laina. She was not able to seriously hurt herself but has been put into the hospital on suicide watch." He stopped again to let it sink in.

"We don't know why yet, but we assure you it's under control and I would like you all to try and be supportive to Mackayla and her husband, your beta Angelo. I would also like to request your help on finding Laina because she carries the heir of the pack and I'm sure her mother will love to see her and be better in no time. That is all now go back to what you were doing" With that Daniel walked off the stage and headed into the hallway.

Pack members were whispering and murmuring. Some about what Daniel had said and others about me. They were all wondering who I was.

I shrugged it of and headed for the hallway Daniel had walked through. I sniffed the air and I knew Daniel was in his office, I kept sniffing until I found the smell I had been looking for. It was faint and getting stronger as I walked around and out of the pack house into the forest into a small house.

My paw pushed the door open and in the middle of the room was my mother lying on a bed. Something was wrong she was on suicide watch yet had no one watching her.

"Laina" I quickly turned around and my body moved into postion ready to attack.

"Dad?"

"Oh Laina" My dad walked up to me and wrapped me in his arms, I let myself be hugged but I didn't hug back.

"I was so worried about you"

I put my arms up and pushed him away. Their was a pained expression on his face but he didn't try and hug me again.

"Why did mother do this?" He dropped his head and then turned away.

"Dad?"

He turned to me with tears in his eyes.

"Oh Laina, It's all my fault" I had never seen my dad cry but now their was tears dropping from his eyes to the floor beneath us.

"Why is it your fault?"

He just shook his head and kept crying. I grabbed his shaking body and turned his head my way. "Stop crying and tell me what happened, why it's your fault"

"It wasn't supposed to be like this, when we traded mate's when I made that deal, it was going great but then Matt and that girl and you, the baby"

"What the hell are you talking about? Trading mate's? What deal?"

My father finally looked at me "Our mate's"
