Chapter 6

It was around 10 when Manik and Nandini left from Murty Mansion. Karan and Ayesha insisted them to stay but Manik politely denied.

Bidding them bye they quietly sat in the car. It was than Manik decided to break the silence. He coughed in order to gain her attention and was successful as she looked at him.

Silently he opened the glove box and took out a small box wrapped with the pink gift paper. Looking at it for a second he looked at her awkwardly and extended it towards her.

Manik: voh...pehli rasoi ka gift. Mom asked me to buy it for you. So

Nandini: (taking the gift from his hand) Thankyou

Suddenly Manik stopped the car and looked at her seriously.

Manik: Nandini, I am your husband not any stranger that you thank me for each and every thing.

Nandini: (looking down) Sorry

Manik: Look at me when I am talking to you. (Nandini looked at him fearfully) Do I look like a monster to you?

Nandini nodded her head in yes making his eyes widen in shock. Realizing what she did she nodded in no than again in yes and again in no.

Manik: Relax! Lets get home first.

She nodded hurriedly and he started the car. Reaching home they found none. All were sleeping in their rooms. Since they already had dinner, they left for their room.

Nandini without saying a word walked in the washroom while Manik changed his clothes in the room itself.

Soon she came out and stood infront of me.

Manik: Are you seriously a doctor?

Nandini: (frown) Huh?

Manik: Yes you don't look like a one. Why are you so scared of me?

Nandini looked down but then remembering his words she looked up at him and continued.

Nandini: I am not. It is just that Amma said to respect you. So that's why

Manik: (sigh) That's wrong

Holding her shoulders he made her sit on the bed and sat beside her.

Manik: That's wrong Nandini. Looking down doesn't show respect. If you want to respect me than don't look down all the time. I want you to look at me the way I look at you, proudly. If we won't try than this relationship won't work out.

Nandini: (innocently) So shall we start from friends?

Manik smiled and nodded his head making her smile more.

Nandini extended her hand and spoke smiling.

Nandini: Friends?

Manik: (smiled shaking hands with her) Friends!

Nandini: Soo

Manik: Let's sit in the balcony if you don't mind.

Nandini stood up and seeing this he thought she didn't liked this idea. The smile on his face which was shining brightly some seconds ago vanished.

Nandini: I will make some coffee for us.

His head snapped at her and he smiled again seeing her smiling. Her smile forced him to smile back. There was something in them which forced to stare without even blinking. In this he actually realized that her eyes are toxic. Yes, they could kill anyone with one look and made a dead alive anytime.

He came in senses as she cleared her throat to gain his attention.

Nandini: You don't want?

Manik: No! I mean yes. I want. I mean you can make for both of us.
