"I'm sorry, I don't want to wear that." I said.
"Why not?"
"Because it wouldn't look good on me."

"Baby, yes, it will. It really brings out your eyes."
"Yea, but I don't know how I feel about a strapless dress." I said, findling with my bracelet.

I felt Shawn grab my hand and intertwine our fingers.

"If you don't want to wear it, I won't buy it. How do you feel about this?" he smiled, holding up another dress.

"I-I don't know if I really want to go anymore." I said quietly.
"What? Why?"
"I don't know, I just want to stay home."
He frowned, hanging the dress back onto the rack.

He held both my hands in his and said, "What's wrong?"
"I don't know."

"Are you sick?"
I shook my head.

"Are you feeling well?"
"No."

"I love you."
"I love you too."

He stared at me.

"I'm sorry."

"What's bothering you?"
I pointed to myself.
"I feel so disappointed with myself, Shawn."
"Why?"

"I don't know."
He wrapped his arms around me.

"I love you. I love you more than anything. I hate that you feel this way, but I'm going to be here with you."

I held my breath to keep me from crying.

"Do you want to go home? I'll just tell them I'm not feeling well and we can stay home together."
"But I know you've been looking forward to this event for the past few weeks. I want you to go."
"But I want to be there for you. I want to make you feel better, so I'm gonna just not go."
I shook my head.

"I'm going to stay home, but you are going to go."
"Will you be okay at home?"
I nodded.

"If anything happens, or you need cuddles, call me, okay?"
"Mhm."
He smiled, holding my hand.
