“If you saw it was so soon and given the circumstances, you shouldn’t have accepted it! You know well how much Cassidy and Jade mean to me! Can’t you see how selfish that was?” Tears were streaming down her face uncontrollably. “I’m down for the whole golden stamp thing and I get that it’s important for you and I told you I’d do it, but you didn’t recognize what’s important for me. That’s the problem.”
“I do recognize it and I take it into account I just, I just-” Fuck. I didn’t realize it. I actually didn’t realize it.
“You what, Demi!?” She replied pissed. This was not a good idea at all.
“I-I didn’t realize-”
“Yes you did, Demi. You did because I told you”
“I know you told me but I didn’t give much thought to it-”
“See? That’s the thing! You didn’t even think it through! And there’s not even much to give thought to, it’s like ‘hey my girlfriend’s sister got engaged, she must want to-’”
“Okay, okay, I get it!”
“Do you? Cause it seems like you didn’t even care”
“It wasn’t intentional, you know I’m not the selfish type and I didn’t mean to hurt you!” I replied
“I know you didn’t mean to hurt me, but you still did!” She breathed out
“I guess I just got so caught up with the interview, the ring and what this would mean for our relationship that I-”
“Hold up, hold up” She cut me off, “What ring?” Fuck. I shouldn’t have said that.
“Oh… Uhm, just a ring I-I was planning on giving you” I looked down and she just stood quiet. A few seconds later, I spoke again, “As I was saying, I was just so caught up on everything that I really didn’t think it through. I know I should have and I’m sorry”
“Thanks” She said releasing air as if the weight of the world was lifted off of her shoulders
“Thanks what?”
“Thanks, I really needed to hear that”
“You’re welcome, I guess?” I ran my fingers through my hair, “I’m going to bed” I stood up and started making my way to the guest room since we were in the couch
“Hey Demi” She said
“What” I turned around
“Can you please come here?” she asked. I walked to where she was. “Can you do me a big favor?” She asked again, just nodded. “Please give me a hug?” She said shyly
I smiled slightly and opened my arms wide; she got in between them and I wrapped my arms around her neck as she did around my waist. I buried my face in her neck and breathed in her sweet scent. I missed this so much, my eyes watered. We stood there hugging each other for about 3 minutes. We pulled away and I noticed she had a tear rolling down her cheek, I wiped it off. “Why are you crying?” I asked
“Why are you crying?”
I brushed my cheeks with my hand “I’m not cr-”, I felt a tear at each side of my face, “Oh”
Cyd giggled, “Why are you crying?” She reiterated
“I don’t know” I said thinking about it, “I missed you too much” I whispered. “Why are you crying?” I raised an eyebrow.
“I-I missed you too” She said wiping an other tear that escaped her eye. “I’m sorry I yelled at you”
“It’s okay, I’m sorry I yelled at you too” I replied
