An infection of mutated bugs spreads over earth, wiping out billions. As a last resort to save the human race, NASA loads ten people onto a spacecraft and sends them up with only half the amount of fuel needed to make it to Mars. The spacecraft crash lands on and uncharted planet and the ten must learn quickly how to survive in their new environment.
