During an apocalypse in America, which is over run by a death plague, the government hurries to try and transport dangerous criminals, who the plague seems to have to effect on, to Britain before there is no one left to restrain them. It comes with great joy when your prison bus crashes and you and nine others escape into the new radioactive land.
