Mirrors are the doors between alternate universe, though know one knows. You've spent years studying parallel universes, wormholes, multiverses, and anything else that can help you travel to one. One day, and old schoolmate comes to you after hearing about your research. He/She reveals to you that they have no reflection and are able to cross through mirrors and into the alternate universe. Its then you realize that you also don't have a reflection.
